With a pounding heart, she summoned all her courage and concentrated her aura into her feet, amplifying her jump tenfold and launching herself toward the serpent's head. In the final moments, she enveloped her dagger with her aura, extending and sharpening its blade, then drove it into the monster's eye.
The monster squealed in pain and shook its head, throwing Gabriela into the sandy beach.
"Ow... that hurts my butt" she groaned then brushed off the sands on her body. "Guess close range was a bit too much."
"Are you okay?" Elder Hannah approached her with a furrowed brow, a tinge of worry evident in her eyes while the rest of her men fights off the monster. "What happened? And where are the children?"
Taking a deep breath, she reassured Elder Hannah, "They're fine. They're safe." However, as the memories of the chaotic scene at the mansion flooded back, she added, "But the other elders, unfortunately, didn't make it. This guy killed them, and I wasn't able to stop him."
