Chapter 446 - She Hasn't Changed

Seven Sins System Chapter 446. She Hasn't Changed

I sighed deeply, leaning back in my chair. "Red, I..." I trailed off, searching for the right words.

"I want to, but right now, I'm just... not in the right mood."

Red's eyes widened slightly. It was clear she was surprised by my statement. But she quickly composed herself. "I understand, my Lord," she said, her voice gentle and understanding. "There's no rush. We can do it when you're ready."

"When I'm in the mood," I corrected her. The words felt strange in my mouth.

For years, I had built an image of a cold and ruthless devil in her eyes—a lord she feared and served at my mercy. But now, reunited after so long, she had to see me in this state. I wondered how this affected her view of me. Did she see me as weaker, diminished compared to the lord she once knew?

Red's gaze was steady, her concern palpable.

"Do you want to talk about anything, my Lord? Maybe explain more clearly about your mission or what I can do for you?" she offered, her voice soft and earnest.

Explaining my mission was something I should have done, but I found myself lacking the will to delve into the mission right now.

"I will explain more after our contract is completed," I said, offering a plausible reason. "There are some details that I cannot explain to you. My father forbade me to explain it except to someone who has a bond with me," I added, a cringe of displeasure crossing my face.

"Except for other immortals who have a similar mission to mine, of course," I added, thinking of Puriel.

"Not even other Lords know about it," I concluded, hoping she would understand my words without pressing further. "So for the time being, I just ask you to collect any information regarding all kinds of demonic cults and their activities," I ordered her.

Despite my efforts, there was always the possibility of another cult tampering with my summoning formation.

Red nodded, her expression one of unwavering resolve. "I will do that, my Lord. I will find every piece of information I can and report back to you."

"Good," I said. A smirk bloomed on my face. "Your loyalty means a great deal to me, more than you know."

She smiled softly, a flicker of the fierce warrior I knew so well. "I am honored to serve you, my Lord. Always," she bowed.

I nodded. "I appreciate it, Red. Truly."

She rose from her seat, a determined look on her face. "I'll start my search immediately. I won't let you down." Red excused herself with a gesture of salute, her hand placed on her chest as she bowed deeply, just as she had in the medieval era. It was a gesture that had once been second nature to all my soldiers. Seeing it now, in this modern era, felt both nostalgic and slightly out of place.

'Ha... She still does it,' I thought with a mixture of amusement and sentimentality.

She turned to leave. I quickly noticed a slight hesitation in her steps. She stopped midway to the door and turned back to me, her face flushed with an emotion I hadn't seen in her for a long time. It was the same look she used to give me when she was younger, a blend of shyness and longing.

"My Lord..." she began, her voice tentative. "Can I... have another hug?" Her request took me by surprise. Red had always been affectionate in her youth, seeking comfort and reassurance through physical closeness. But seeing the mature version of her make such a request now, it felt different, almost surreal.

Still, I couldn't deny her. There was a part of me that longed for the simplicity of those past moments, the unspoken bond that had always existed between us. I opened my arms to her without standing from my seat, inviting her in.

Instead of simply hugging me, Red surprised me by sitting on my lap, just as she used to do in the past. Her movements were fluid and familiar, a muscle memory from years ago.

She nestled into me, her arms circling my neck, and snuggled close like a spoiled cat seeking warmth and comfort. I exhaled a long breath. 'She hasn't changed,' I thought, feeling a mixture of relief and nostalgia.

Her body fit perfectly against mine. The room seemed to grow quieter. Her scent, a mix of familiar herbs and the faintest hint of iron, filled my senses.

"I've missed this," she whispered, her breath warm against my neck. Her voice was soft, filled with a vulnerability that she rarely showed. It was a side of her that only I had seen.

I ran my hand gently down her back, feeling the tension in her muscles slowly dissipate. I looked down at Red, nestled comfortably on my lap, and a faint smile tugged at my lips. "Aren't you too old for this?" I teased gently, raising an eyebrow.

She shook her head from side to side, her hair brushing against my chest. "I'm still the same girl you know, and I don't want to change," she replied, her voice firm but soft. "I still crave you, my Lord."

I could see the truth in her eyes.

"You haven't changed, have you?" I murmured, running a hand through her hair. The familiar sensation brought back a flood of memories.

She leaned into my touch, her eyes closing briefly. "No, my Lord. I've changed in many ways, grown stronger, wiser... but my feelings for you have never wavered. I still need you, still want to be close to you." She opened her eyes, looking up at me with a fierce determination. "It's my choice, my Lord. I've always chosen you."
