Andrew King wasn't annoyed; he just stood behind her with a smile.
His throat felt a bit itchy, and he pressed his fist to his lips, coughing lightly a few times.
Vinny Hawke opened the door and was about to close it when she noticed Andrew's somewhat pale face and hesitated slightly.
Andrew kept his eyes on Vinny.
Seeing her hesitation, a trace of amusement flashed in his eyes.
He held the door open and said gently, "Mandy, my throat feels a bit itchy. Can I come in for a glass of water and sit for a while?"
She was a sharp-tongued but soft-hearted woman.
He always knew.
Vinny glared at the man in front of her, annoyed, "Don't you have water at your own house? Why are you coming over here in the middle of the night?"
This old man, with his poor health, running around recklessly, why hasn't he coughed himself to death yet!
Vinny cursed at him, but she didn't close the door, instead turning back into the house in a huff.
Andrew smiled warmly and followed her inside.
