Few more days have passed. It's uneventful. Life is good. But the constant thoughts of being ambushed is not pleasant. Our lives haven't changed much. I even went to Jupiter to show my face for the first time in a while.
I took a lot at my disciples. More than 3 months have passed in Jupiter. Aldo, Alyssa and Levi have all grown up.
I even sparred with Aldo and Levi. I held back obviously. Still, their growth is steady. Not unprecedented, not overwhelming but steady. Aldo has become strong enough to handle a horde of goblins. Well, if it's less than 20.
It's a big improvement. He couldn't even use a single spell before. He is steadily growing no thanks to me.
The mentor he had was Gwen. He is a cleric but he can use offensive magic. Gwen gave him some pointers and he studied by himself. I don't even feel like claiming to be his teacher.
Aldo on the other hand is mastering his sword. He has become familiar with the sword and his control has become good.
Not to the point where he can use it as an extension of his arm but he is good at handling the sword.
His stamina has increased and his strength is gradually building up. General Vindolf is doing a good job. Besides, the gym has become quite popular with everyone.
Trevor and general are basically gym bros. You can find them at the gym.
It was a hassle to bring them to the gym all the time so I created a gym facility at the knight's training ground. Now everyone is interested.
Even Levi uses it saying he can't stay weak even if it's physically. True that body and mind harmony can help a mage.
The circulation of mana and their mental state affects their performance. I am pondering when I got a message on the monitor.
"Hmm..a request for entry. It's from Seina Kamiya. If I remember correctly, he is a creator from Constant clique. Well, let's grant it."
I approved their request and sent a word to everyone. The castle was prepared to receive important guests.
I wouldn't have minded meeting them myself but Samantha and Fay get really angry when I do that.
I get up and walk to the audience hall where they are seated.
Entering the hall I see 3 people sitting at the table. I recognize Keith but two are unfamiliar.
One is a man with white hair and red eyes and gives off a vampire vibe. Other is a lady whose age I won't bother guessing. But she looks at me motherly affection in her eyes. The type I see in my mother's eyes.
I take my seat. I have Hazel, Aura, Fay, Samantha, Gwen and Amaryllis with me. Aera and Aegis are playing with Eden and Tiana. They should not be bothered. Doris is tending to the garden. She said that she has no interest in meeting with other creators.
"It's nice to meet you all. I am Clive Belmont. For now, I am the creator of this world."
I introduced myself. In these cases, the most important person is introduced last and by someone else while they sit on their high horses.
I don't believe in those things. If you want someone's identity, introduce yourself first.
"I believe you all know me but I will reintroduce myself. I am Keith Harding. I am also a creator but currently I am taking refuge in Clive's world." (Keith)
"Then I will go next. I am Seina Kamiya. I am a vampire and a creator. It's a pleasure." (Seina)
So he is indeed is a vampire who is also a creator. From the looks of it, creators really do come in all shapes and sizes.
I look at the lady. She is still giving me that oddly warm and affectionate look. It's as if she is looking at her own child.
"Then I will do the same. I am Melissa. Currently I am a wandering witch who lives in Seina's world. But I am the actual creator of this system which Clive is running. I am also Seina's biological aunt. Although my sister has perished. It's a pleasure to meet you all." (Melissa)
So this is the person. Keith mention her when I asked him. She is the first creator and the mother of my predecessor.
Then everyone introduced themselves in order. It's a round table. After the introductions were done, we got down to business.
"I came here today to see for myself who my son's successor is. Clive Belmont, you are an exceptional talent. You managed to become a creator when originally you weren't even part of this system. A system anomaly has become the creator. If you were malignant, I would have personally wiped you out. That did not become the case. You are safe for now." (Melissa)
"I am honored. However, why did you leave your system?"
Let's ask for the reason. It might sound impolite but I want to know. What possibly could have happened that she had to leave?
"It was actually a simple misunderstanding. My son and I had a fight. We both were not willing to listen to one another. In the end, I left. I just bequeathed the system to my son and left." (Melissa)
A simple argument between parent and child. It happens to every parent and child. But this proved disastrous for this pair.
"My son didn't become the creator. He stayed a harbinger and died a harbinger. His death left the system without any successor. So the backup became active and kept the system running. Of course it wasn't perfect and thus you were born. Clive, your birth was destined. No matter how powerful we are, as creators, we do follow some unspoken rules. No matter what happens, we will never reset the timeline.
If one creator resets their timeline, every creator would be affected. So every creator agreed upon never changing the past." (Melissa)
That explains a lot. Because when I was thinking of changing the past, I did not. Maybe it's a subconscious response to this.
We may be creators but we aren't dictators. We let destiny flow as it is.
"Can creators die?"
I have asked this before so I will ask it again. Everyone has different answers to this question.
"A creator can choose to die. Death becomes optional. We can choose our deaths or we can live for as long as we want. By the way, how long do you plan to laze around?" (Melissa)
She suddenly got all serious. The flow of the conversation changed.
"I am not lazing around. I am properly doing my work."
"No. You are just lazing around. You have yet to get full control over the system. If this keeps on, the system will malfunction. You have seen it for yourself, haven't you, the ruined world? Do you want your system to turn into one?" (Melissa)
It does sound bad if she puts it that way. However the mood changed again.
"Boys, out. It's about time I have a few words with the girls." (Melissa)
And with that us three boys were kicked out.
"Is she always this headstrong?"
"Yes. I hate to admit it but she is mostly like this. You see my state, she made me this way." (Seina)
"Yeah. What should we do?" (Keith)
"How about we go to Jupiter? I feel like they will take some time."
"Fine by me. Maybe I should have brought Serus with me." (Seina)
"He is busy with his relationships. Let him rest. We can get the band together next time." (Keith)
And with this, us three left for Jupiter. The meeting was as how I had expected but meeting Melissa sure was weird.
