Chapter 9 - Chapter 9. Sick

The doctor came and examined Rafael. After that, the doctor wrote a prescription for the medicine Rafael had to take. The doctor said that Rafael was only dehydrated and overly exhausted, which caused the fever.

Hany couldn't bear to see Rafael still unconscious with such a pale face.

"You really care about the master, miss," the maid said as she approached Hany.

"I feel sorry for him, Auntie. He usually goes from one office to another every day. Now he can only lie here sick."

Hany looked at the maid with teary eyes. She checked Rafael's body temperature by placing her hand on his forehead. It still felt hot.

"Miss, please have breakfast first," Ningning said as she entered Hany's room. Rafael had been brought there earlier. Taking him upstairs would have been too troublesome.

"No," Hany refused Ningning's invitation. She truly had no appetite.

Outside, Ningning, Mina, and the maid had already prepared breakfast. Normally, no matter how sad she was, Hany could always be persuaded. But the moment she saw Rafael sick, she refused to eat.

"Miss, please remember the baby in your womb. It's pitiful… Miss, you're not alone. Maybe you don't really need breakfast, but what about your baby?" the maid advised gently.

Yes. Hany really wanted to be able to see her baby born into this world.

In the end, Hany agreed. She went to the dining table and had breakfast, also drinking the pregnancy milk the maid had prepared for her.

The bodyguard Hany had sent to buy the medicine had already returned. Hany asked for Rafael's medicine. After eating—though she didn't actually finish her food—she only drank her pregnancy milk and immediately went to Rafael's room, carrying a glass filled with fresh drinking water she had just poured.

"Ah… the master hasn't eaten anything since this morning. Is it okay for him to take the medicine?"

Hany had reached Rafael's room. At first, she wanted to wake Rafael and ask him to take the medicine, but she suddenly remembered that Rafael hadn't had breakfast. She went out and met the maid in the kitchen.

"Auntie, I want to make porridge for the master," Hany said to the maid. The maid helped her right away.

Hany and the maid were busy making porridge for Rafael.

At first, Ahjumma forbade her, but Hany kept insisting. She wanted to make it with her own hands. After it was done, Hany brought it to the room. It turned out Rafael was already awake. Earlier, Hany had asked a bodyguard to guard Rafael in the room.

"Master, are you feeling better?" Hany asked as she entered, with the maid behind her carrying the bowl of porridge.

"Hmm…" Rafael was still weak; he only cleared his throat. He was sitting upright, leaning against the bed.

"This is your room, right? Why was I brought here? Didn't you say I wasn't allowed to sleep here?" Rafael said, recalling Hany's words from the night before. He also wanted to test Hany a little—somehow, he just wanted to see her reaction.

Rafael tried to get up from his seated position, but his body fell back again because he still felt weak.

"Master, please stay here. This is your house, so you can choose whichever room you want," Hany said, not wanting to appear as if she was taking control of the house. After all, the house she lived in belonged to Rafael. The entire house and all its rooms were his anyway.

Rafael smiled. The maid excused herself, dragging the bodyguard—who stood there like a clueless statue—with her. She lied, saying she needed his help, when in fact she just wanted to give Hany and Rafael some time alone.

"Master, eat a little of the porridge, then you can take your medicine," Hany said, intending to feed Rafael.

Again. Hany's attitude was truly sweet and full of care toward Rafael. Rafael didn't know whether this was out of gratitude or something else, but he genuinely liked being treated so tenderly by Hany.

Hany fed Rafael several spoonfuls until he refused, saying he was already full, and then he took his medicine. Rafael couldn't stand being sick. He kept saying that he had to recover by tomorrow because he had a lot of work to do.

"Master, please rest first. Don't think about work. Where is your phone?" Hany said like a debt-collecting mafia. She held out her hand in front of Rafael.

So bold!

This was crazy—this was the first time he had ever met a woman like Hany. She was extremely worried about him; she even dared to scold and threaten him. Rafael handed his phone over to Hany just like that. Usually, the women around him would only send vitamins and wish him a speedy recovery so he could return to work quickly.

"Don't go to the office until you're fully recovered," Hany said as she kept Rafael's phone. Rafael stared at her in disbelief. What was going on with the woman in front of him?

"I have a lot of work, Hany. I need my phone. Give it back," Rafael said, trying to ask for it again. For a split second, he really liked Hany's attitude. He obeyed her, as if Hany were truly his wife. But then he realized—work was always more important to him.

"Don't you feel sorry for me? If you're sick, who will take care of me and your baby?"

Ah… Rafael's heart felt cold, then melted. Hany's eyes were even brimming with tears.

"Okay. Give me the phone. I'll just call a few people at the company to ask them to handle my tasks. Or bring the work here," Rafael said, holding out his hand again.

"Promise?" Hany hesitated to give him the phone.

"Promise. I swear. I'll recover quickly and take care of you both."

Rafael reflexively touched Hany's stomach. Hany was happy. But then she and Rafael both felt awkward. Hany handed him the phone.

"I'm sorry," Rafael said softly, realizing he might have gone too far. But he liked it. Hany also liked what Rafael had done.

Hany handed over the phone. Rafael immediately called several people at the company. Hany kept watching him with a sharp gaze.

Is this sincere love, Hany?

Rafael himself wasn't sure.

But if it was, Rafael liked it.

Rafael took complete rest in the room. Hany went about her activities with the maid. She didn't forget to send a message to the office saying that Rafael was sick and wouldn't be coming in until tomorrow—maybe longer. For sure, until he recovered.

Hany's decision to inform the office turned out to be a big mistake. Instead, it became a whip against her. Rafael's mother grew worried because Rafael wasn't answering his phone. Then Mama Bisma called the office, and Mama Rafael was shocked to hear the news that her only son was sick, yet no one knew where he was.

Mama Rafael was extremely worried. At home, she kept nagging Bisma, telling him to call his brother and find out where he was, especially since he was sick.

Tutt…

Bisma tried calling him several times. But Hany deliberately turned off the phone.

"Ahh…"

Bisma suddenly remembered something. There was one house he knew—his brother used to come there often. It was a house his brother had prepared for the future he once planned with his former lover, whom he still loved. Bisma wasn't sure Rafael would be there, but it was worth a try.

"Let's go there. Mom is really worried, you know. He's sick, the office knows, but he didn't come home."

Mama Rafael immediately pulled Bisma's hand, taking him to that house. When they arrived, the house Bisma thought would be quiet was actually crowded with bodyguards. Who were they guarding?

Bisma parked the car in the yard. Mama and Bisma entered the house. Someone opened the door for them.
