Chapter 18 - chapter 16: Landing at Point Rain Part 2

A/n the Zilo Beast Arc was supposed to happen before Geonosis arc but I decided to change it until after. I'll post a full chronological order of all episodes in an auxiliary chapter.

Also, since most scenes in the episodes happen with so many different characters at once, I will keep some texts simple like (this character replied/spoke/said); or not mention the name as it is already shown in the show and I assume 90% of readers have watched it, but for the last 10% I'll try to still write down character names even if it is very tedious, as it does make dialogue text rather boring sometimes. I hope there are no issues with that regard.

"Our ships are in position and we are ready to begin our campaign against the Geonosians." Obi-Wan said as he indicates towards the hologram of the planet Geonosis as multiple red dots representing the Repulic forces were scattered across various sectors and points.

"And what about Poggle? Any report on his location?" Mace Windu asked.

"It seems he's holed up at the primary droid foundry here. The factory is protected by a shield generator. Anakin, Ki-Adi and I shall attempt a three-pronged attack through their defense lines to a staging area just short of the shield. Once we've landed, we shall knock out the shield generator. That is our primary target."

"Isn't it risky committing three generals to one area of the attack? If something went wrong, we could be dealt a serious blow." The devil in disguise himself, Chancellor Palpatine joined in and questioned Obi-Wan's explanation of the plan.

"To ensure that rise again Geonosis does not, capture Poggle we must." The hologram of Master Yoda responded to the secret Sith Lord's feigning question.

"Of course. As always, I shall leave the strategy to you, Master Jedi."

"Our thanks, Chancellor."

"May the Force be with you." Mace Windu said towards Obi-Wan and the others present, before the holograms of himself, Yoda and the Chancellor faded away.

Just then the doors to the briefing room opened up and in came Commander Cody, Commander Jet and Captain Rex.

"Good. Cody, these are the coordinates

for the rendezvous."

"Yes, sir, when we hit the ground, we'll create a perimeter there. Getting past their defenses here will be the trick. General Mundi will come across the defensive lines from the north. We will make our assault through the middle. General Skywalker will make his attack on the defensive lines from the south, and we'll meet at the rendezvous point at 0700 exactly." Cody explained the specifics of the plan to all present.

"If we meet with strong resistance and are forced down away from the landing zone, hold out until we join our forces before attacking the shield generator." Said Ki-Adi Mundi.

"Their frontlines are heavily fortified. Look at that giant wall with all the gun emplacements. That won't be easy to get past." Ahsoka pointed out.

"Don't worry. We're not going anywhere near that."

"Come, now. What happened to all the enthusiasm I saw earlier?"

"Don't worry about us. You just make sure you get yourself to that landing zone in one piece."

"Yes, I shall be waiting for you, when you finally arrive."

"Gentlemen, if you are quite finished, we have a battle to begin." Master Luminara Unduli spoke up to stop the banter between Anakin and Obi-Wan.

"Quite right. Cody, prep the gunships. I'll meet you in the hangar." Obi-Wan said as he began making his way out of the briefing room.

"Yes, sir."

"Daud, a word."

I nodded my head and made my way out of the briefing room, following behind him until I walked side-by-side.

"Have you made up your decision if you will join us for the first attack on Geonosis? You won't have a chance to come later on until after the first checkpoint is established."

"For now, I think I'll wait on the Negotiator Master Kenobi." At my words Obi-Wan simply nodded and didn't say anything more.

I split up from Obi-Wan and headed to my room. In private I had been studying on the Holo-Net about various fields of study. Especially splicing and technology, and i had been able to dampen the pain emitters of the collar I was wearing.

There's no way I'm smart enough yet to shut it off, but I can brute force my way when I transform and tear the collar off.

The collar I was wearing was made specially at Palpatine's orders, it would adapt to the form I took and expand and shrink in size, very impressive.

But when I'm in a tough form I can tolerate pain to a great degree which is a miscalculation on their part.

Sure they'll know when the collar breaks, but if I broke it in the battle when I transformed to save everyone, the merit I would achieve would grant me the freedom I wanted and finally be rid of it.

And that's what I did for the next hour, I kept fine tunning it carefully, using either my tail tip or claws as makeshift tools to modify it.

Finishing off the final modifications, I made my way back to the command bridge.

I made it in time to witness the the gunships and tank carriers deploy for the assault.

The heavy defenses of the Geonosians revealed themselves as the Republic forces was taken by surprise by the level of artillery they received.

Palpatine naturally gave the opposing side intel of the Incoming attack as always.

I could have given the idea to deploy fake cover via orbital bombardment, that way it would allow the Republic forces to use them as cover to advance towards the rendezvous point.

However, I wanted to see firsthand how a cannon event would go without my intervention.

And the results didn't disappoint.

Everything went the exact same as in the cannon.

Kenobi's gunship was shot down.

Ki-Adi Mundi's forces took significant losses while Skywalker's forces crashed far away by the ridge on the Eastern side.

Communications quickly came up and i heard everything from the command centre.

Cody confirms that they recovered Obi-Wan from the downed gunship, and later Ki-Adi lost Communication since they went into a cave system.

Meanwhile, Skywalker and Ahsoka were predicted to approach the Eastern fortress wall in the canyon.

"Admiral Yularen what is the situation down there?" I asked as I approached the terminal of a holo map of which was used to find the position of Skywalker's forces.

"It isn't good for General Kenobi's forces, they are heavily pinned down and we've no fighters to send in support at the moment."

I looked at a close up render of Obi-Wan's position and they were surrounded by nearly 200 Geonosians and Droid forces, and that didn't include the tanks from the enemy's side.

...

I guess it can't be helped.

"You there, hand me a communicator will you." I asked one of the clones stationary in the command deck.

Admiral Yularen gave me a look before turning to the clone and nodding.

At that the clone gave me a communications device that i knew would get destroyed in the battle, so I didn't want to take my personal one.

Turning around i rushed down the corridors and headed to the hanger bay.

When I reached there i stood in the center of the hanger bay and focused mentally of the form I wanted to take.

No matter what form I took, the traits I possess would carry over into any form I take on, thus I would still have the same durability of my scales regardless, though it would be stronger if it was non-humanoid.

The first sensation was the cracking of my spine, vertebrae elongating as my shoulders rolled forward with a wet pop.

My jaw unhinged with a sickening grind, cartilage reforming as my skull flattened and stretched.

The sound alone would've made a lesser creature vomit especially at the grotesque pattern of snapping tendons and shifting bone. My fingers thickened and my claws elongated.

Blood rushed to new capillaries beneath emerging scales, my skin splitting in jagged lines as indigo plates pushed through.

Heat blossomed across my arms as they changed form and molded to become like wings. My thumb became a single lomg talon claw while my fingers arched backwards to become feather-tipped struts, wing membreme grew between my omce fingers as the webbing was still sticky with embryonic fluid.

My vision warped as my pupils slit vertically. The ground beneath me groaned under shifting weight, my talons carving furrows as my tail whipped sideways, smashing a steel crate into accordioned ruin. A guttural sound built in my throat.

Muscle fibers wove themselves into new configurations. I inhaled sharply once all was set and done.

This is what is hated about my transformations, it was unbelievably uncomfortable, though sometimes it was alright. Changing one's own anatomy was not a pleasurable experience.

At first I vomited a few times but I adapted and got used to it.

The form I had taken was that of Toruk Makto, a well known and infamous Ikran Banshee from the Avatar movie.

With a single flap of my wings I took to the air and flew through the opening of the hanger and soared through the sky towards the battlefield.

Meanwhile, with Kenobi's forces on the ground, they were heavily pinned downed by blaster fire at all sides.

Meanwhile, in the center of the defensive line of the Republic ground forces, which had set up a circular perimeter using positioned Walkers to serve as cover; Obi-Wan Kenobi sat injured and resting against some crates in the middle of said perimeter.

Clone Commander Cody had just received communications from Admiral Yularen, and he had approached the injured Jedi Master.

"General Kenobi, I just received word."

"I trust we have good news?"

"Of sorts General. Admiral Yularen said reinforcements is on its way."

"How many?"

The sound of a distant echoing predatory roar was heard, even through all gunfire and artillery bombardment going on around them.

"Just one sir."
