As dawn began to break a engines began to slow to an idle pace and a calm that they knew was temporary and likely short lived began to wash over those who were left to stand vigil on the night watch across the entire fleet. They had done their duty and coordinated the effort to recover and refuel the smaller faster moving craft that had linked up with the midget subs and helped transport some of those who had been rescued from the jaws of the deep blue.
