"How did you even kill the boss?" Silvia asked the moment everyone gathered inside one of the small rooms in Igor's Inn. The windows were fogged with evening chill, the lantern light soft on anxious faces.
"My spell hit it," Ren said, flat and simple.
Silvia narrowed her eyes. "I know your spell hit it. But how could you hit it when Vulcan was moving so fast?"
Ren lifted a shoulder. "Lucky hit."
Silvia blew a breath through her fringe and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Is that important?" Alecia asked, already half-distracted by the idea of opening chests.
"We got firstblood, so who cares?" Rosie added, kicking up a heel onto a stool.
"It is important," Silvia insisted. "If we want to try Vulcan again on a harder difficulty, we need to know what worked and why."
