Seeing this exchange, Victor's eyes turned wide in shock. It was rare to see surprise appear on his face. Instead, Roselia responded with a smile, and didn't directly answer his question.
"Good. Good. It looks like Lianne didn't waste her breath with the lot of you. You've got good foundations.", Roselia said, praising Victor. "But alas, I have no need for you. At least not right now. So why don't you move along back inside?"
"I am already inside the car though...", Victor murmured. After Roselia said the name "Lianne", he was stricken with a weird sense of dejavu, and familiarity. Perhaps, nostalgia? It was a weird feeling nonetheless. But for a good reason. He didn't know why this little girl before him knew his ancestor. Lianne Sandlot is the person who Roselia was referring to. Lianne perished over two-hundred years ago in the War of the Lions. He didn't think she'd be so brazen to call Lianne by her first name so casually like this. It was as if she was a close friend to this girl before him.
In the end, Victor could only sigh, seeing Roselia not giving him an answer on the matter.
"Very well. I will not inquire about this.", Victor said, only to turn toward me next. Seeing him do this, I pulled my head back into the orbal car, and looked at him. "Naoto, was it? Our talk about teaching you will be put on hold for now. It seems you are quite preoccupied at the moment.", Victor continued to say.
"You could say that.", I replied, simply nodding my head. I already have one Master, and a Teacher, who is none other than Father. If I wound up taking two or three more teachers like this, my schedule would implode on itself, haha! Seeing this, Roselia grinned, and called out for me from the rooftop.
"Now that the brats are out of the way, why don't you join me on this here rooftop, Naoto?", Roselia asked me, causing me to look at her again.
"You do realize we're DRIVING, right, Master?", I retorted again hearing that question.
"Don't sweat the small details.", Roselia replied, shrugging her shoulders. She acted as if the wind brushing against her face didn't bother her one bit. It's not like I could refuse her, though. I followed along, making use of my small frame. Bonus points for being a small child again, I can slide into cracks that adults would have a hard time doing so. And perhaps it was my stats that were at play, but I nimbly made it upward, and arrived at Roselia's side.
"Much better.", Roselia said, smiling at my arrival. She saw me sit cross-legged beside her. I started to feel the rush of the cold wind blasting against us. It wasn't super uncomfortable, but still a first for me. I didn't think I'd ever see myself riding on top of a car before. People usually ride INSIDE them, you know!
As for the secret agent who was left to his fate, he quickly turned around at Crown Prince Eugent's request, and quickly disappeared into the car, leaving the two of us to our own devices. The talks about what's currently happening around the capital resumed, and I wasn't going to disturb them any longer. They're the highest-ranked military officers of the Imperial Army, and their primary mission at hand was protecting the Crown Prince. Seeing as I'm still a young child, I'll leave it to them to protect the prince, haha!
While the talks resumed, it didn't take long for Olivert's eyes to shine, just like how he normally acts. It was Aurelia's turn to speak up, drawing eyes to her.
"Am I the only one who is confused about all of this? Isn't there an intruder on the roof? Why aren't any of you doing anything?", Aurelia questioned, still confused.
"I told you, didn't I? The person of concern is of no threat, to us at least. But if you truly want to see, why don't you venture out yourself?", Giliath asked back.
"Is that truly alright?", Aurelia responded back, not expecting to hear such a suggestion.
"Yes. You may go. You can leave the rest of the discussion to us, Lady Aurelia. Just be sure not to disturb them too much.", Crown Prince Eugent said, confirming Giliath's instruction. Aurelia smiled hearing that.
After that was said, Aurelia hoisted herself up out the window in one fell swoop, making it appear like it was an easy feat for her. She moved much more gracefully and steadily than I did a moment ago. Doing an action like this on a moving vehicle wasn't easy. Olivert smiled seeing Aurelia do this.
"Perhaps I ought to join them---", Olivert tried to say, only to quickly get shut down by Mueller, whose anger returned on his face seeing Olivert behave like this.
"Oh no you don't Olivert. You're staying right here. I will not let that kid influence you, even if he is Giliath's son of all people.", Mueller retorted, only to place his hand on Olivert's shoulder which prevented him from moving beyond the window.
"Alas. I fear this is what fate lies in store for me. For now, at least~", Olivert responded, not wanting to anger Mueller any further. He could only remain inside the orbal car.
It was about an hour's drive left before we reached Heimdallr. All of the officers present resumed their talks with Crown Prince Eugent.
As for Aurelia...
The only thing that could remain in her eyes was simply that of shock. She saw a little girl with extremely long and unruly golden-blonde hair seated beside me. But what attracted Aurelia's gaze the most was the crimson staff placed over her legs. It was as if it came straight out of a fantasy novel. She raised her eyebrows after observing Roselia for a moment. As for me, I didn't think Aurelia would actually join us up here. What is this, a playground?
Now, three people could be seen speeding along the highway heading straight toward the vermillion city in the background. We would see traffic going around us, but no one was walking. Probably better, otherwise they'd question us why we're doing this, haha!
"...Who are you?", Aurelia questioned after pausing for a moment. Instead, Roselia shifted her eyes back toward me, ignoring Aurelia's question outright.
"So this little girl is the one you're interested in, boy?", Roselia asked. Being so blunt about it caught me off guard. It almost caused me to spit out my saliva in surprise, but I held it inside.
"That's a pretty blunt way to put it, Master.", I said, stealing a glance at Aurelia beside me. Her confusion quickly turned into anger realizing what had just been said.
"I am not just some 'little girl'! I am a proud noble hailing from the Le Guin family! Just who in Aidios's name are you for acting so brazen toward Erebonia's nobility?", Aurelia retorted out of anger. She even scoffed at Roselia. Well, props to her for actually going through with it. I dare say you're a millennium too early to even consider challenging someone like her, heh.
"Yeah, yeah.", Roselia retorted back without batting an eye. "I've met nobles far worse than you little girl. Just shut up and sit down, or else I don't mind blasting you off this car myself.", Roselia said, threatening her. Oy, seriously?
"You...", Aurelia tried to reply. And yet, in the next moment, I saw Roselia's eyes constrict. Her irises distorted, and became two slit-like eyes, very reminiscent of a cat. Just seeing that alone, a hidden pressure escaped from her body which caused Aurelia to pause in her tracks. A hint of fear appeared in her eyes while she began to shiver.
'This pressure...', Aurelia thought. 'Don't tell me, someone like me is scared of this little girl? Just who is she!?', Aurelia inwardly exclaimed.
Reluctantly, Aurelia agreed to Roselia's demand, and proceeded to sit down cross-legged beside us.
"Good girl.", Roselia said, causing me to sigh. "And now with the hassle out of the way, we can continue our conversation."
Even though Roselia said that, I still don't know why she came here while we are in transit to the capital no less. My curiosity grew, wanting to know why.
"Are you seriously going to show me something like this, Master? Isn't there a time and place for training?", I decided to ask.
"Training?", Aurelia also asked, ending her earlier attitude toward us. Even she grew curious seeing the new topic at hand.
