Chapter 1 - 1

"Jie, I'm hungry." The younger girl said in their own language while pouting, caressing her stomach as it grumbles. The older one's brows creased and almost formed into a line. They found sitting beside the boxes in the corner of the boulevard comfortable. She glanced at the carts passing by before wiping the excess dirt on the younger's face. She stole a glance on the older man beside them who began to cradle the child over his thin arms. She gritted her teeth meeting each people showing them an empathic look on their faces.

"Don't worry, I'll go get food for you. Go back to our home with jeje." She whispered, pulling her hoodie to cover her face and leave their spot. Her eyes wandered around the lively market. She walked and blend in through the crowd, gazing people near her.

Pathetic she must say, someone like her wander around every corners of this market to find food. Even how much effort she put in, on one will accept her for work. Especially she's a girl. All she can do is to grab the knife on it's sharpest part to live. Nevertheless, her guts won't take if she work with some gangs around the area. Those guys are nothing but individuals with rotten souls.

"Screw this." She murmurs after sighting some guys grasping metal pipes that hurts a lot when you got hit. Her feet halted from taking another step when she decided to back out. The girl spotted on her peripheral vision a man whom she predicted got fat wallet stacked on his jean's back pocket. She waited for him to walked passed beside her. Soon after the man went near, the girl did her smooth and quick turn while taking his wallet away. She quickly slide it inside her pocket then proceed on walking away as if nothing happens.

Things like this are not new to her. The anticipation doesn't matter to her anymore. Being pick pocket is not new to her. She knew how to not to get caught. Being chased by the authorities nor other people just to get back the belongings that doesn't belong to her does not matter anymore. She memorized each corner of the town, know where and how to escape from the situation she was in. Other youths around her doesn't waste a sweat to go then mess up with her. They're too afraid to do it so. One simple gaze from her dragon eyes can make them quiver.

"Where's my wallet?!" The man cried, people around him stirred the entire situation by their gossip. She shrugged as she headed to the street. She hide herself beside the wooden cart and then counted the yen on his wallet. The girl chuckled after pulling out a green and valuable bill out.

"Appears like the god of luck convey me the prosperity I wanted." She folded the bill, take away the remaining money and throw away the wallet. Little did she know, the wallet that she thrown got picked up by someone she didn't notice.

"Look like you got plenty of these today, Yue." A voice from behind froze her from the very spot she's into. Yue raised her hands in the air to surrender, laughing with a non-existent humor she got.

"Let's talk later, Sanchez." Yue proceed on walking away. The person she addressed as 'Sanchez' laughed lowly. Cannot deny the fact that the girl being fluent in another language. Sanchez simply tossed the wallet on the pile of box near her. Her joyous masked slipped away like how she avert her gaze on Yue's back.

"Do you have something that hold you back and gives you regrets?" Sanchez asked, loud enough for the hooded girl to hear. The girl proceed walking away from her while still think for the answer.

"Target approaching. 45 degrees. Do you copy? Sniper unit stand by."

["This is sniper unit, copy that."]

"I'll repeat the objective on this mission, guard the dragon."

"Ah, you must be the hooded girl that my boys are talking about." Yue, coming out from the convenience store, stopped from setting her foot out. She eyed those men who stand taller than her size. Their tattoos to their same apparels they're wearing to the golden thick chains wrapped on their neck, arms, and fingers indicate one thing. Yue's grip on the bags gets tightened when the shining metal bats jumps on her sight.

["Another target approaching the perimeter."]

"Huh? Who's hooded girl? I don't know who's you're talking about, Sir."

"No, it's definitely you. We just want a small talk with you."

"I can't my family would be upset if I'm not home by now."

"What do you mean by family? Them?" Yue's fist almost turned white after she heard the voice of her sister resisting from their grip. The old man whom she entrusted her got slammed his fragile body on the ground. He cough blood while trying to reach Yue's younger sister.

"If you don't come with us, then it's too simple, we'll kill them both."

"Don't come with them, Jie!" Her sister's high-pitch tone ringed on her ears.

She's the older sister. She's the only one who moves for her remaining family. She cannot afford to let them in danger because of her work. Instead of lifting her fist and fought them, she handed to her sister the bag then looked at the guy who speak to her.

"I'm coming, leave them." They leave the spot with two person devastating.

"I don't need any orders from the shit of an organization. I consider it fun when their blood come out." Another person enter the scene. Yue's sister and the old man cannot see it face clearly because of the sheet of fabric covers half of it's face. Neither figuring out what it's gender is way too hard because of it's black clothes.

"Vincent you crazy bitch." Sanchez laughed before entering the scene too. The person held the long gun closer and pulled the trigger without words. A man walking beside them fell down. Yue stared at him with wide eyes.

'Do you have something that holds you back and gives you regrets?'

Does Yue have regrets? She questions herself as she stared at the body laying on the ground. Her breaths started to shake, hands clenched into fists.

"I don't have anything to regret." She murmurs before elbowing the man's abdomen and then punching him on his chin upwards.

"All I want is to live. Is that a sin?" Yue selflessly asked. The group around her split into two, handling Sanchez and the other one named Vincent while the others remained their attention on Yue.

"Kid, don't even think that you can survive in this world with purity." Their leader says.

"I'm not using anyone to survive. I can find a way."

"Your name means 'moon', right?" He said with a hesitating smile on his face while looking down at the girl who's silently sitting on the floor, holding a dagger. The boy cannot fully see her face because of the hood she's wearing yet he strongly believes that she had a beautiful face. Her dragon-like eyes averted at the boy sitting in front of her then averted her gaze back on the cold blade.

"If you already know why you keep asking? Go away." The boy pouted yet doesn't show any hint of obeying her, "I don't even follow any orders. I stay where am I." He said in full courage.

"So you're proud that you're useless." She stood up and turned her back at the boy. His expression dropped and shifted into a grimace. Instead of letting the girl leave, he stood up and do his best to walk beside her then intentionally pulled down her hood to make her stop.

The girl's eyes widened. He left speechless and amazed at what he saw at that moment.

"Your hair--Argh!" He got immediately restrained from his back and his chest got pressed into the floor.

"You're so nosy for a useless prick."
