"And you can only be mine!"
When Sydney Sawyer said those last few words, she was looking right at him.
Her eyes were sparkling.
Sebastian Lockwood's heart skipped a beat, then began to pound.
Sydney Sawyer watched him, feeling a mix of nerves and anxiety. A gust of hot wind swept over them, and her heart began to race.
"I'm quite selfish, you know. If you're mine, then you can *only* be mine. I won't share you with anyone else. So you'd better think carefully before you answer..."
In that instant, the distance between their lips...
...vanished.
It was as if all the air had been sucked out of the world. His lips were soft and searing, a heat that burrowed into her body and instantly set her heart ablaze.
Even though it was just a fleeting touch, Sebastian Lockwood pulled away slightly, only to dip his head again for another light peck on her lips.
"How's that for an answer?"
His voice was dry and hoarse.
