Cameron Southwell knew that the people coming to rescue him had arrived when he heard the first gunshot outside.
Immediately, the drum beating in his heart slowly calmed down. Seeing Shane Southwell nervously trying to peek out, he slapped his son on the head!
"Stupid boy! Do you want to die? Stay put!"
Shane Southwell winced in pain and had to crouch back down.
Outside, the gunfire rang out intermittently. Cameron Southwell and his group waited for about two or three minutes before the gunfire ceased.
He figured the group of robbers wasn't large; otherwise, the fighting wouldn't have stopped so quickly and he could finally breathe easier.
A moment later, a few people approached from a distance. The leader wore a black hat, had a half-burned cigarette in his mouth, and a menacing scar across his face.
Seeing this person, Cameron Southwell smiled, patted Shane on the shoulder, stood up, and greeted the scar-faced man politely: "Scarbrother."
