The air in Central Plaza vibrated with an almost palpable energy, the joyous cacophony of laughter and music reaching its crescendo. This was the final night of the Season of Blossoms, a week-long Sakurean holiday steeped in history, a celebration as ancient as the Sakura Abode Country itself. Imagine, this wasn't some recent tradition. This festival predated even the momentous treaty that united the Pendrago and Yamata clans, the very foundation of the Sakurean nation. For the millennium that preceded the clan treaty, when this vast island was a divided land, etched with the territories of the Pendragon and Yamata clans, even then, there were already records of them both acknowledging and celebrating the first signs of spring, the glorious arrival of the blossoming season.
