I had royally fucked up.
That was all I could chant to myself as soon as I was banished to one of the guest chambers by Evelyn, Cloud's mother. I didn't know what had happened. I had pushed Cloud too far.
We all knew he just couldn't take it. Not when he was so fresh from giving birth. I didn't know what had gotten into me. What possessed me to act the way I had last night? I knew- I knew I could go far but not to my own family.
Not to show them that ruthless side of me that didn't let go until I got what I wanted. That was a different Adonis. The son of Gordon and the grandson of Josiah. Some of the most feared Kings known in history. I had promised myself when I became King I would be different.
I wouldn't conduct myself the way they had. The paranoia. The backstabbing and betrayal. I told myself I would be loved and because of that people would want the royal family to stay in power because of that.
That was until I became a king of course.
