The water heated up in less than ten seconds, the steam filling the bathroom as I stared at myself in the mirror.
I was taking a shower instead of being out there with Ivan, and I wasn't sure about that decision. It wasn't that I was running away from the weight of what we'd discussed or the intimacy after. It's just that I needed a moment to process everything and deal with what I was feeling. How was it that from everything he'd told me, the thing that refused to go away was that he'd been engaged? What kind of bullshit was that?
