Chapter 797 - Chapter 776 ( Alva )

"Ahead of us is the Great Schnee Labyrinth" - said Meiru while shaking her head - "I wonder what kind of test Van-kun has done?"

"I don't know, but I can tell you one thing for sure... I hate this place..." - Lyutillis said with a frown as she felt her body temperature was at its lowest, after all, they were in the middle of a frozen tundra, not to mention that there was no sign of life around the area, it was all ice, ice, and more ice.

"I'm surprised that Vandre-kun chose such a... desolate place..." - Belta said as she frowned.

"Well, Van-chan was always a hard person to understand" - replied Lyutillis while shaking his head.

"Thanks to you guys we got here fast" - said Cloud as he looked at the entrance of the last labyrinth, which wasn't hard to find thanks to Meiru and Lyutillis' guidance.

"Should we go in right away?" - Shizuku asked with a frown.

"No..." - Cloud replied as he shook his head and began setting up camp outside the labyrinth.

"Should I use the compass you think?" - Lyutillis asked as she showed him the small device, which had the function of pointing in the direction of where she wanted it to be, though it was currently pointing in Cloud's direction, which made her cringe and quickly put it away.

The other girls smiled slightly before watching as the elf princess began to get even more embarrassed.

"No, we'll use that one when we gather all the components to create the key to unlock Ehit's realm for our final battle" - Cloud replied as he shook his head - "That way we'll find the weak point of his barrier".

"Will we all go in?" - Remia asked as she hugged her daughter, who didn't seem to be suffering from the cold thanks to the blond's magical inventions.

"Yes, unfortunately I can't just leave a group waiting outside the labyrinth" - Cloud replied as his gaze darkened - "Not after..."

The girls immediately understood before nodding.

Although there was a chance that Rika would return to the world of the living, the probability was extremely low, it was even possible that she didn't even exist and he was just holding on to a very cruel hope that would blow up in his face in the future, although there wasn't much he could do about it. He regretted not being closer with Rika, even if they weren't lovers, at least being closer than a boss and subordinate, but that wasn't possible anymore.

The group rested for a few minutes, when they noticed how a snowstorm started to hit their camp.

Cloud frowned as he felt this was too much of a coincidence, so the odds of it being an orchestrated attack were quite high.

The girls looked at each other because they honestly did not expect something like this to happen when they were about to enter the last labyrinth, although at least it was not so problematic thanks to the barrier that covered their camp.

The group sat there waiting for the snowstorm to stop, when they watched in surprise as a silhouette walked in their direction.

"I see you finally decided to show up," Cloud said with a frown.

The girls quickly hid behind him while Yue and Meiru felt a strange sense of familiarity, though the blonde vampire could feel her heart pounding because this aura was slightly familiar, as if she had felt it a long time ago, but couldn't remember where.

Cloud frowned when he saw the middle-aged man with blonde hair, blood red eyes, and a black Victorian suit.

"Impossible..." - Yue muttered as his eyes widened in surprise - "You should be dead like the others..."

"It pains me that you thought I was dead.... Aletia..." - Said the middle-aged man with a small smile.

"No... you're not him... you're just using his face..." - Yue said as she felt a strange aura surrounding this man's body - "You're not my uncle Dienleed..."

"Dienleed" he smiled slightly before letting out a laugh - "True, I'm not your uncle... though I have to admit his body has served me well for all these years, in fact, I couldn't have asked for a better vessel for my existence, my dear princess of the vampire kingdom Avatarl..."

Cloud frowned because now that he had heard these words, he felt a huge divine presence within this man, though it wasn't Ehit's, because if it was, he would have detected it immediately with all the confrontations they had had, so this left only one possible culprit, and that was none other than Alva, the demon god, Ehit's direct subordinate, as well as his right hand man.

"I see you deduced who I am, though you don't have to worry, I didn't come here to fight" - Alva replied as he looked at the irregular and his group that opposed the celestial order - "But I'm still going to introduce myself, my name is Alva, Ehit's former subordinate, it's a pleasure to meet you personally, irregular, the person who has been ruining my former master's plans"

The women frowned when they heard this because they felt there was something odd about the words of this man who was using Yue's uncle's body.

"Old?" - Cloud repeated with irritation - "You say you no longer work for Ehit? That's hard to believe."

"No, it isn't," Alva replied disdainfully, "Not when you know that your boss plans to kill you to steal your divinity, so he can recover from the damage you my irregular friend did to him."

Cloud remained silent because it made sense, though it made no difference to the situation between the two parties. It didn't matter that Alva was against Ehit now, after all, he was still using the body of Yue's only living relative, which made him an enemy.

"Hmm, strange, I thought that with my explanation your hostility level would go down a bit, but I see that's not the case" - Alva said while frowning - "Is it because of the vampire princess?"

"I don't think you need an answer when it's obvious..." - Cloud replied with disdain.

"Hmm, I see..." - Alva muttered as she frowned - "I've come to negotiate an alliance so I can kill Ehit, so I can make some concessions, such as handing control of his body back to Minister Dienleed."

"You say my uncle is still alive?" - Yue asked with surprise and hope

"I have nothing to gain by lying to you when I'm the one who needs your help" - replied Alva with disdain.

"What's to stop me from simply capturing you and extracting your soul from that body?" - Cloud asked coldly

"Do that and you will kill this vampire" - replied Alva with hostility - "My soul is parasitizing his body and he has Dienleed's soul asleep, that's why if you extract me, I will simply destroy the soul of the owner of this body.."

Cloud frowned when he heard this.

"Besides, if I really wanted to fight, I'm pretty sure I'd end up damaging this body badly before you could capture me, which means I'd die along with the owner of this body," Alva replied disdainfully, "Do you still want to capture me, irregular?"

Cloud again frowned because he didn't like to act passively, but seeing Yue's worried expression made him have to think things through better before acting.

"You want to negotiate now?" - Alva asked with a huge smile because she knew she had the flow of the conversation under control, all thanks to the fact that she was using her own person as a hostage.

"Tell me your terms..." - Cloud said neutrally.

Alva smiled slightly before speaking of what she wished for.

Kouki stood silently as he watched the corpse of another demon on the ground with a terrified expression on his face. He had honestly already lost count of how many demons he had killed, but it was still useless.

It was as if Umbra was disgusted by the low amount of mana his victims had.

"You said this was the fastest option..." - Kouki said neutrally.

[It looks like Umbra doesn't want the blood of the weak, so you're going to have to go deeper into the depths of the dark continent.]

Kouki nodded weakly as he continued on his journey, unaware that Ehit was just as confused as he was. Normally, demon blood was more than enough catalyst to be able to break Umbra's last seal, and at first it had worked, but after a while this breakthrough came to a screeching halt, leaving them in the general situation.

"Something, human!" -a fierce voice exclaimed.

Kouki looked up and saw a muscular man with tanned skin and red hair, which showed that he was a demon, and seemed to be stronger than the trash he had encountered since entering the inhabited area of the dark continent.

"I guess you'll do..." - Kouki muttered as his body was surrounded by Umbra's dark aura - "Or at least I hope so..."
