In just the first checkpoint, Angela Andrews was frightened unconscious by the blue-faced, sharp-toothed ghost. Ned Mamet hurriedly carried Angela out of the cave, saying to Audrey and the others, "I'll walk from outside and wait for you at the exit."
Then, Audrey led Annie Jaba, Louisa Hayden, and others onward.
In about half an hour, they reached the final checkpoint of the haunted house, the Thousand Buddha Hall.
In the bright hall, thousands of Buddha statues stood against the walls, each radiating brilliant gold, creating a sense of divine illumination.
