The howling cold wind blew, making the swing still creak.
Colder than the wind, more empty than the swing, was Audrey's heart.
She stood there dazed, staring blankly at everything before her.
Seeing Audrey's vacant gaze, Arthur's eyes remained icy, and after saying "Please, Miss Price, take care," he nodded and bid farewell.
Beside the ice sculpture exhibition, watching Arthur walk back alone, Mona hurriedly approached him.
Arthur's face was calm, no joy or anger visible.
Mona cautiously asked, "Arthur, did I do something wrong again?"
"It's not your fault; the only fault lies with that unreasonable woman."
"Arthur, it's really my meddling that caused this. I didn't know Miss Price dislikes primroses, nor did I know she doesn't like..."
"That's enough."
Seeing Mona startled, Arthur realized his tone was too harsh, and he gently encircled her shoulders, saying, "Mona, I'm not upset because of you."
"Is it because of Miss Price?" Mona asked cautiously again.
