My fingers flying across the keyboard of the terminal I was sitting in front of, working not only on the [Defenders Initiative] but also a few others plans I wanted to eventually set in motion, I only stopped when I felt a tap on my shoulder.

After I did I turned around and saw both Gwen and Felicia standing behind me. The two of them with their masks off, also like me.

"Welcome back you two." I said. "How were your individual patrols?"

"Great." Gwen replied. Felicia nodding her head in agreement.

"But from what we heard not as exciting as yours." Felicia added. "Breaking up a gang fight in Harlem?"

"What can I say, the old 'Parker Luck' does have its good moments." I replied.

And it better, considering all the other shit it throws my way on a daily basis.

"And how is walking into a firefight between rival gangs something you consider "good luck"?" Felicia asked me, using air quotes.

"Why, I'm so glad you asked." I replied, standing to my feet. "Allow me to show you."

Moving past Felicia and Gwen I walked over to the work table where Spinner and the Spider-Bots had been working on the Tinkerer invented energy weapon I had confiscated from Tombstone and his subordinates earlier. The weapon in question now entirely dismantled into individual components.

Felicia and Gwen joined me.

When they did I pointed to the weapon.

"What you see on the table on front of you ladies are the components of an energy weapon I confiscated from the side of one of gangs earlier when I broke up the firefight in Harlem. The side with said weapons being led by a man named Alonzo "Lonnie" Thompson Lincoln. But he prefers to go by the name Tombstone. He's a criminal with a long rap sheet, and he's got superhuman capabilities which include enhanced strength and durability. But that's not the most interesting thing about dear old Lonnie."

"It's not?" Felicia asked.

"No, what's interesting is who he works for." I said. I then snapped my fingers. "Spinner, if you please?"

"Of course." Spinner replied.

He then brought up multiple documents, images, photos, etc...all centered around Wilson Fisk, the good ole Kingpin.

"The man you see in most of the images on the screen is named Wilson Grant Fisk. The owner, founder, and CEO of Fisk Industries. A philanthropist who presents himself as a kind and generous man to the world, who claims he only wants to help the city. But that couldn't be farther from the true. For you see underneath his public persona Fisk is a ruthless and sadistic criminal who controls all major crime within New York. His underworld persona being known only as the Kingpin, or the Big Man."

"Holy shit! The Kingpin is real?!" Felicia shouted.

"I heard my dad mention him once or twice, but only in the capacity of an urban legend. The Boogeyman for New York criminals." Gwen explained. She then looked at Felicia. "Though I'm surprised you know about him Felicia?"

"Please don't forget I was a professional thief like just yesterday." Felicia pointed out. "But just like you I only thought the Kingpin was an urban legend."

"Oh believe me ladies he is very real." I said. "And I'm fairly certain the rumors don't do him justice. The energy weapon components in front of you being a prime example. For it, and the others I left at the scene for the police to collect, were created by a man known as Phineas Mason. Who from what I've been able to gather is a brilliant inventor that disappeared from the public eye over two decades ago. Though given Tombstone and his lackies were packing weapons based on Mason's design concepts then that means he is likely in the employ of Fisk."

"That's...shit." Felicia mused. Placing a hand on her forehead.

"Peter, if you know all this why aren't we moving to take Fisk down like yesterday?" Gwen asked.

"Because it's not that simple Gwen." I replied. "Fisk has been operating like is for decades. And from what I've been able to gather he's as pragmatic as he is ruthless. So he definitely has contingency plans in place. That means even if we did go after him we would likely miss. And even if we didn't, despite all the horrors Fisk has or is perpetrating, we can't overlook the fact he is currently controlling the majority of the criminal elements in New York. So ask yourself, what would happen if we simply take him out?"

"Chaos." Felicia said. Right on the money.

"Exactly." I replied. "With Fisk removed from the picture the city would be engulfed in war, everyone vying for his spot. Which is actually yet another layer of protection Fisk has against someone going after him."

"I get it." Gwen said. "But I also know you wouldn't be telling all of us this if you weren't already coming up some sort of plan to deal with Fisk. Because for all your faults you're not that much of a sadist Peter."

"Of course I'm not." I replied. "And you're absolutely right I'm putting a plan in place to deal with Fisk. Which brings me to another little tidbit from my adventure in Harlem earlier today. I met another sueprhuman with powers similar to Tombstone, only like us he was a sort of hero. Even helped me stopped the fighting. His name's Luke Cage. A guy who I plan to recruit, along with others I found, into a collection of remarkable people that want to protect the innocent and won't turn a blind eye to crime. A group I've decided to call the Defenders." I explained.

I then snapped my fingers again.

The moment after I did the information on the terminal concerning Kingpin disappeared, and instead was replaced with information concerning all those I had in mind to recruit to the Defenders.

"I have so many questions." Gwen said.

"Then ask away." I replied.

After I did Gwen, Felicia, and I began an in-depth discussion about the superhero team we were going to create.

(3rd Person: POV)

While Peter and his allies were making moves, so were others.

As Wesley entered his office Fisk turned to face him.

"Report." He commanded.

Leaving no room for discussion.

"Mr. Lincoln botched the entire operation from start to finish sir." Wesley began. "Not only were he and the men following him seen by multiple eye witnesses while in Harlem, but fhey also caused massive property damage, and if that wasn't bad enough they were all apprehended by Spider-Man." He explained.

"I see." Fisk evenly replied.

"Sir, given the severity of Mr. Lincoln's failure today would you like me to take certain measures?"

"Thank you for the offer Wesley, but that is not necessary at this moment." Fisk replied. "For although Mr. Lincoln did make grave errors in today's operation that doesn't outweigh all his success in the past. But let's make sure to remind him of the fact he did indeed fail today and let him stew in jail until the morhing."

"Understood Mr. Fisk." Wesley. "On that note I wish to inform you that the Enforcers have finally arrived."

"Excellent." Fisk replied. "But seeing as I just learned the spider couple now has another crime fighting companion, who is calling herself Black Cat, and with all our other annoyances as of late, I feel we will need more than the Enforcers to properly address the situation."

"What did you have in mind sir?" Wesley asked.

"Tell me Wesley, have you ever heard of the mercenary known as The Beetle?" Fisk asked.

Wesley shaking his head.

"Then allow me to enlighten you." Fisk replied.

Leading for him to discuss his next moves with Wesley.
