After a huge battle, the wounded Sycorax stood above Adelheid's wounded body as he barely could open his eyes. His grey robe was all torn up, his body was riddled with wounds.
The both of them were surrounded by other members of Daman who were unable and unwilling to interfere with their battle, out of fear being decimated to pieces.
"Sycorax is a traitor!" Adelheid screamed out while trying to hold his pain, but despite his words, the other members just stood there as there was nothing they could do.
Adelheid saw that and started to fall into despair, he turned his view towards his junior, Shin Pierian. Adelheid yelled out, "She killed Carlos! Shin, you have to believe me!"
Sycorax stared at Shin as her white blades began to appear around her, pointing at Shin as a threat.
"Shin! Carlos, his body is down there, in the rubbles! You need to-" before Adelheid could finish his sentence, his body was pierced with six blades, killing him in an instant.
"Anyone else wants to join him?" Sycorax asked as she stared down the rest of the member with her murderous eyes. They all tremble in fear and was silent as an empty void, bowing their heads as a sign of submission.
"Good, from now one, I will be the one leading this organization. We will be retreating to the base for now."
As she was about to leave, a giant fireball came rushing towards her. Sycorax was caught off guard and was unable to avoid it in time. She knew that, so instead of trying to avoid it, she blocked the attack with her white blades, minimizing the damage she will receive from the attack.
The fireball exploded on impact and sent her flying. The other members took a look at the enemy which was none other than Hafsa Hess herself.
"This isn't really my job, but who can resist taking down a famous terrorist organization!" as she started going on a rampage, launching fireballs at all directions, causing explosions and fire
everywhere, killing most of the Daman's members. Those who were fast enough to dodge the attack immediately took cover and began to retaliate.
On the other hand, Sycorax was still lying on the ground, helplessly. In normal circumstances, Sycorax would have gotten up in no time, but she exhausted her energy by fighting Kyron, Frank Reece, and Adelheid Wahida. Taking on that last attack from Hafsa had caused her to reach her limit.
She realized all of that and decided to escape rather than continue the fight, "Adrian!" she called out to one of the speedster member of Daman.
In a flash, a boy wearing a yellow jacket appeared right beside her. "Take me to the base! Now!"
"But what about the others?"
"Leave them!"
"But they won't-"
White blades began to appear around the boy, leaving no room for him to escape.
"I said leave them," Sycorax said with a grim face.
With no other choice, Adrian picked Sycorax up and started sprinting out of that place. Hafsa saw what they were doing and brought the fury of the fire god on them, launching what appears to be a fire storm at them. The storm destroyed everything in its path; cars, motorcycles, the roads, the street lamps, even part of the buildings on that street.
But Adrian was faster, as he was capable of outrunning the storm, and it seemed that they will manage to escape.
"Shit! The main boss is getting away! Hey agent guy! Do your thing!"
Sycorax heard what Hafsa said and was wondering what she meant by that when all of the sudden, she was thrown to the ground, hard. "What the hell, Adri-" she stopped as Adrian was on the ground while covering his own neck, trying his best to stop the blood that was pouring out of it.
"Wha-" Sycorax was stabbed by a dagger from behind, right in the gut. She turned her head around and saw nothing. She let out a little laugh, "haha... you.. you really are a pain in the ass... Frank," as the dagger was pulled out of her body, letting the blood poured out of it.
"That is for what you did to Percy," Frank said as he deactivated his camouflage.
Sycorax chuckled at Frank's statement, "So I didn't manage to kill Ray huh? What a shame!"
Frank stared down at her as he was preparing to deliver the finishing blow. But before he could do that, Adrian went on a hail marry move as he ignored his bloody slit throat and with a blinding speed, carry Sycorax out of there. Frank was caught off guard and he immediately tried to stop him, but Adrian was way faster than him. In a blink of an eye, they were gone.
As the realization that he failed to kill Sycorax emerged beyond Frank's consciousness, Frank fell to his knees and let out a gut-wrenching scream of pain and rage that could be heard even from the deepest pit of hell.
