Gloomy was the only way to describe the sight of the building site in front of the three girls.

Although it was a beautiful day outside, the gas station that they stood in the proximity of had held a weary aura around it, almost a danger symbol that told them to get back into their vehicle and drive the way they came, which was towards the city once more.

The three ladies were on the outskirts of the city at one of the many well used petrol stations, their intentions clear as the blue sky as they aimed to get a ton of fuel to bring back to their ever-growing home.

Kiriko, the mother of Rei wore a plain white tank top with her officer jacket over the top, a pair of black denim skinny trousers, and her combat boots with a sharp knife stuck inside of her left boot, a camo green handle to go alongside it.

Rika wore a jumpsuit that she was well familiar with, instead of her usual color which she had grown to love, it was now replaced with a light blue jumpsuit and a tank top underneath, like Kiriko, Rika wore combat boots and one of her weapons on her back using a strap to carry it, of course, her purple hair placed in a ponytail with a seductive smile to add to her gorgeous view.

Saya on the contary to the other ladies wore her high school uniform many others knew her to the majority of the time, her hair down unlike most of the time, her expression as stern as ever with a pair of normal flat shoes to top it off.

In Saya's hand was a 'Colt 1911', a weapon which was given to hear in case of emergency or the undead attacking them.

The three maidens walked closer to an abandoned gas station after leaving their humvee in one of the parking spots, the three spotted one lonely car that had one of its front doors left wide open with no sign of anyone using the car.

"Seem's this place is abandoned, or is it?" Kiriko placed the thought of the store/gas station being in used.

Rika knew Kiriko was not wrong in the slightest.

The road which they had driven upon while driving towards the gas station had been loitered and filled with dead bodies and vehicles that were no longer in use anymore.

The thought of taking other vehicles' fuel from cars that were no longer being used.

However, Kiriko knew how dangerous that could be as there were different types of fuels for different vehicles and other stuff she would need it for.

"Not only is it abandoned, but it's also a mess."

Saya made no attempt to hide her disgust as she and the two ladies walked past a dead body.

"No kidding, I must admit I am surprised this place hasn't blown up or gone up in smokes already, I guess we got lucky."

Rika's expression turned sour.

"No matter how much I want to, I can never get over the sight of..."

Before Kiriko could finish what she wanted to say, the feeling of wanting to wretch began to make itself more obvious as she looked away.

"It's a horrible sight."

Saya finished Kiriko's sentence as she could not stand the sight of the many dead bodies that were ripped apart on the ground.

Stepping forward and over the deceased, a few feet in front of them was the first pump that they were going to use.

In hand, Kiriko, Saya, and Rika brought many bottles and containers that could hold the fuel for them to use when they found it necessary, the thought of possibly getting generators in the future crossed her mind.

"This job of ours may be the easiest, I expected more undead if I am totally honest."

Rika turned around, watching the undead down the road as they walked aimlessly around the side of the road and near the buildings on each side of the road.

"Don't be cocky."

"Cockiness is your worst enemy, especially in times like this."

Saya and Kiriko warned the military-trained woman as she giggled, ignoring their comments and pulling the handle out of the fuel station.

Saya's eyes widened as she moved to the opposite pump, her thoughts began to wander as she realized something.

"Say... can gasoline provide power for a generator?"

Saya not being an expert in that type of area did not know the answer to her own question.

"Pretty much."

"If that is the case then I would suggest we grab some for the future, who knows when we will need it, and considering Kohta is a geek, he may know a thing or two about generators and how they work." Saya pointed out as the other two ladies nodded, understanding her point and making a mental note.

Kiriko nodded in response, understanding how Saya's mind as she stared at the girls seamlessly for a few moments, realizing Saya was a smart teenager who was able to think quickly on her feet as they survived in the hell hole known as the apocalypse. Rika on the other hand nodded and waved it off, not wanting to think too much about it and instead of casting her mind forward onto their task.

"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT!"

A zombie a few metres away growled at them, walking towards them slowly with a broken leg.

Kiriko stepped forward without an ounce of fear appearing on her face, bent down and grabbed the combat knife out of her boots and walked even quicker.

'Lovely, it will not be easy to get through these, I suppose we can always use this as a way to clear a few out in the future.'

The knife danced around her fingers until she held the blade with her two fingers and thumb, aiming it at the zombie before letting go and throwing it towards the undead.

Squirrrrt!

Blood came pouring out of the zombie's skull as soon as the blade lodged deep into its head.

Kiriko quickly ran up to the undead and kicked it down onto the ground as it became unable to fight back, the knife going into the skull more as the brain stopped working.

Rendering the first undead of the night completely useless and nothing more than a corpse on the long road.

'What was I thinking? There is no way we can make a difference by clearing out one zombie when there is a whole city full of them, it would take years and numerous amounts of people to even destroy a big proportion of the ones in the city...'

Kiriko bent down and pulled the bloodied combat knife out of the head.

Using the jacket of the male zombie to wipe the blood off, although the clothing had been in tatters, covered in blood and dirt.

After cleaning her knife slightly, Kiriko looked at the male figure.

'So this zombie is a male, approximately between twenty-one and thirty-five years old giving his looks, his neck was bitten out by other zombies who feasted on his flesh before he also turned, his left leg clearly broken from his movement from earlier, is it possible he was in some sort of accident before his death to the undead? Or perhaps he was aware of the undead and had been caught by them?'

Kiriko hummed to herself as she was in deep thought, unaware of the two ladies behind her, staring at her.

"What are you doing exactly?"

"She's doing research into the history of the people before they turned into zombies Saya." Rika smiled as she crossed her arms, looking up and spotting a zombie walking towards them.

"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRJH!"

"I will take of this one, Saya watch over her while I handle this zombie." Rika walked forward.

Kiriko reached into the pockets of the undead zombie she had killed mere moments ago, looking for anything significant to confirm the identity of the man.

Her hands eventually found something as she pulled a wallet of some sort out of her pocket, opening it up she began her investigation into the zombie which she hadn't been able to do since discovering Takashi and the others.

'Interesting, he is a delivery driver for the company Premis inc, very interesting, wait... If I remember correctly there was a building in their name which they receive the deliveries, perhaps if there are some trucks there...'

Flipping the wallet closed, she placed it back onto the zombie.

Standing up straight and turning towards Saya who loomed over her shoulder, an idea or two in mind.

"This guy before he became a zombie was a driver for a company called Premis Inc, I have no idea what it is but I know they do large deliveries to the south side of the city, perhaps we can talk to the others after and suggest a potential visit there?"

Kiriko spoke as she turned back around again, her eyes widening as she spotted Rika smiling wryly at them.

"Erm, that is great in all but I think we have a different enemy to face right now..."

Kiriko and Saya knew Rika was not wrong, it seemed from a few glances that Rika killing the second undead had alerted all of the zombies to them, there were even some zombies coming from the side.

'Oh, dear...'

...

...

Two Days Before.

In the middle of nowhere, a large mansion that was separated from the rest of the world remained tall.

Inside of the compound was a fountain that ceased working ever since the world came to an end, the water inside of it had turned into infected water that had a corpse inside, a corpse which had been torn through and left blue in the face. The water had a green tint to it with moss beginning to grow ever so slightly without the care of the servants being done to it. Although from a glance it was obvious that the structure was growing old and weary, enough force could render the fountain to be destroyed and no longer remain its magnificent figure.

The large brick mansion had its downstairs windows boarded up from both sides with wood, the upstairs of the building was the opposite with many figures looming around the building once and a while, walking past the visible windows that allowed anyone outside a view into the building.

A black SUV sat next to the fountain, relatively untouched except for a few specks of blood that plagued the bumper of the car.

All around the large home and behind the gates were large trees which made the hard times they had to survive less hard due to the rural area they were in because they were no longer in a city, those who used the large house as the home had to deal with limited issues when it came to zombies, of course, the trees could be used as extra security to put it simply.

Putting all of that aside, a figure of a woman sat at a desk emerged in one of the rooms.

A note pad in front of her, she tapped her black ballpoint inc pen on the piece of lined paper on the desk, looking at the ceiling as she thought deeply.

'Think Crystal think, we are low on supplies and we need to come up with a plan to get food here quickly!'

The woman known as Crystal brought her pen to her lips as she thought, her light blue hair that went down her shoulders moving ever so slightly as she made small movements back and forward on her chair, in a rocking pattern.

Crystal wore a grey turtleneck jumper, a pair of skinny jeans that fit her perfectly, and a pair of boots, a necklace with a diamond in the middle, earrings in her as she thought.

Her mind going blank consistently which began to annoy her.

"Miss Suzuki?"

A high-pitched voice that sounded like a child called out to her, causing her to look towards her head with a surprised reaction.

Within a few seconds, her expression changed once more, from surprised to happy.

"Carlotta? Hey, is there something you need from me? You look slightly concerned..." Crystal stood up and walked over towards the girl who stood next to the door in a blue frilly dress.

"Mr Suzuki is being mean to me again, he called us names..."

Crystal kneeled down so she was on the same height as the nine-year-old, nodding along as she remained smiling but in reality, her smile was a facade that hid a very angry feeling wielding in her heart.

Her eyes gleamed outside of the room where other children stood scared, six to be exact, each wearing their own terrified yet saddened expressions that looked like they were going to cry any second from now, it angered, no more like it enraged Crystal Suzuki to no end.

'That bastard...'

Out of the six children, all of them but two were female, the remaining were boys of course.

"Okay I understand, can all of you stay in this room? I'll go talk to... him." Crystal grew angrier at the moment.

The children nodded as they followed Carlotta into the room one by one, some aiming to go sit on the bed as they brought their toys with them, some were action figures and the rest were games they could play with others, once they had all gone into the room.

Crystal closed the door gently, remaining with a smile until it closed permanently.

Her expression changing as soon as the children were unable to see her expression on her face as she stalked down the stairs with an angered expression.

"I can't believe you!"

"Do not raise your voice at me."

Between the cold tone of her father and the angered tone of her sister, she could also hear, Crystal turned a corner as soon as she walked down the stairs.

Seeing her sister stood behind her father as he watched something on TV.

"You think that you can just call those kids that?! They are just kids! They did nothing wrong!" A woman wearing a sports bra and leggings with a black jacket argued with her father.

Crystal remained silent until she found her perfect opening.

"I did say that group of trash was not allowed down here, yet you allow those insects to roam the house without caution." The cold-hearted many spoke out as he turned around to face his youngest daughter.

His grey hair was completely slicked back as he wore casual attire, his goatee adding to the murderous intent that lingered around his frame.

"It's funny because those insects you call the children? They have a brighter future than yours and yet you sit in that damned chair and watch those stupid shows while the world collapses around you, without even offering help to others." Crystal argued against her father.

"Watch how you talk to your father." His eyes glared daggers at his two daughters.

"No! We are tired of it! You are no father of mine!"

Crystal's youngest sister brushed past her and began to walk up the stairs in anger, her loud stamps becoming obvious as Crystal glared daggers at him, the two in an intense stare-off.

"She's right, we are leaving this place immediately, you can rot in hell here."

"You know you are not permitted to leave here."

"You think you can stop us?"

"No, but remember what I said? I will find you again, do not doubt me, it is your ultimate weakness." Her father leaned forward, pausing the show he was watching.

"Hah! Not this time, I should have never returned in the first place."

Crystal laughed it off and flipped her middle finger at her father before shortly crossing her arms and walking off as a new plan in mind came to fruition in her mind, for now, Crystal knew she had to get the kids away from her father before something would eventually happen.

Her father's behavior all of her life had flown back into her mind as she remembered several memories from the past, some during their 'hideout' and the majority being as a child from her past, he had always been a bastard in her mind, his annoying yet rude behavior years ago had led to Crystal and her sister's mother running away and leaving the two children away, however her father knowing some dangerous people had slightly worried her, her fathers taunting had stayed in her mind as she walked up the stairs.

"What is the plan?"

"The plan is to get all of your clothes into a bag or that suitcase in your room and we go, we leave him here to rot and take the kids with us."

"Do we know where we would be going as soon as we leave?"

"Not too sure but I would rather be out there than be in here and risk him belittling the children again."

"..."

"Are you fine with that?"

Crystal barely had to think about that answer to her sisters question, it was the most obvious thing in the world, due to their father past antics and his connections across the whole country, he was considered a very evil man, even to his own family who resented and hated him for his cruelity to others, it made Crystal wonder what her mother saw in her father in the first place.

"Of course, with what is happening out there in the real world, im more than glad to take the kids and find somewhere new."

"Yeah..."

Her sister who looked very much like herself but with shorter hair stared at the ground with a neutral expression, deep in thought she appeared to be, Crystal also took a few seconds to regain her composure and think for a few moments.

"..." Her sister remained silent.

"This is something we must do Stella, those children are depending on us and when I brought them back here from the school I used to teach at, I knew that we would have to do what is best for them."

"You are right..."

"I know."

"Where are we heading to exactly?"

"Perhaps we can head back into Tokonosu city? There could be survivors like us out there that would be willing to help out?"

"Got it."

Stella brushed her shoulder length hair out of her face and looked up towards her sister.

"The car is still siting outside on the driveway, please pack the bags and escort the children into the car while I grab neccessities and snacks for the ride." Crystal placed a hand on her sister's shoulder, nodding her reassuringly as she pushed her forward.

"Got it, do you have the keys?"

"They are in my desk, top draw to the left."

With the two sisters who shared a common resemblence beginning to pack their things for the road, their father could only remain in his chair as he stared at the television screen that was powered by the generators in the basement, the only source of power he had as he wore a cold expression, not faultering for even a second.

The students of Crystal on the other hand, began to question her sister Stella on what was supposed to be happening, their youthful yet confused expressions made the mission for them all the more clearer.

...

...

'Oh dear...'

Rika quickly approached the two other ladies, a calm and analyetical expression on her face as she watched many zombies come from multiple directions, a hoarde which walked slowly but had enough undead to cause massive issues for the group, a seed of doubt about their energy levels being able to defeat more than 30 zombies in quick succession in less than 15 seconds or so.

That was her prediction, all of the zombies surrounding them could easily overwhelm them in less than 15 seconds, Rika had trained heavily during her days in the military to be able to read scenario's she never expected to be in.

Today was now one of them.

"Anyone got a plan? I think we need to take out multiple rather than one or two per individual." Kiriko remained calm.

"..."

Saya remained quiet, her heart skipped a beat as the feeling of dread washed over her body and soul, not accepting death just yet, her face went slightly red as she found herself unable to communicate.

'This cannot be it...'

Although Saya Takagi was stuck up in many words, she worried about her own fate for the first time since the undead took over their whole world.

"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRTH!"

"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

"BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTH!"

The groans coming from the zombies made the three ladies realize how serious and tender the situation was, Kiriko wanted to question where the undead had come from but she knew the time was not now of all times.

Five seconds past by, they were mere metres away, some zombies limping as they walked closer.

Skkkkkkkkrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttttt!

"!"

"!"

"!"

Kiriko's eyes widened as she spotted an black SUV driving towards them with quick speed as the vehicle killed multiple zombies along the way, the undead aimlessly turning walking into the vehicle before shortly being decapitated and nothing remained of them but blood on front of the car.

The vehicle came the road that they had embarked on with their own humvee, driving up a small slope where the gas station that held many litres of fuel for them to use back at home.

The undead had turned their attention to the vehicle from them and into the vehicle quickly approaching.

'We've been saved!'

Kiriko turned to the other girls who were also watching the suv get closer and closer on the long stretch of the road, tapping their shoulders repeatedly and pointing towards the zombies to the left of them.

Using it as an opportunity to kill a few undead while the vehicle and the noise distracted them.

"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"

Kiriko was the first one to take out a zombie walking aimlessly, the other two followed shortly with their own attacks, taking two more zombies out as the vehicle arrived.

Skrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt!

The driver of the black SUV had put its handle breaks on and maniovuered the car into a position where the undead were quickly knocked far away using the side of the car, twenty or more zombies walking in the middle of the road were quickly knocked to the ground, some dying from the collision of the vehicle as it quickly stopped.

The three ladies taking a few more zombies out before diverting their attention, looking towards the car as a woman with light blue hair stepped out of the vehicle, her expression serious as the used a baseball bat to beat a zombie who was gathering to its feet.

The remaining undead began to slowly get up very slowly, their limbs not as strong as they used to be so it took them a while, some zombies even suffered with their limbs being entirely ripped off.

"Clear as many as you can then we can talk!"

Craaaaaaaaaack!

The woman hit a second undead zombie at the side of the head with her baseball bat once more, hitting him once more once it was on the ground.

Making sure it was dead properly.

She moved on quickly, walking forward and taking the same approach to the undead now standing in the middle, each spaced a bit away from each other.

The one in front of her was dressed as a brick layer, a plain white t-shirt that was spilled with its own blood.

Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Rika held nothing back as she quickly round house kicked the first zombie, sending it tumbling to the ground with left over blood dripping from its head.

Her weapon of choice quickly spun around her fingers before implanting its self into the second undead's skull.

Pulling it out mercelessly and allowing it fall to the ground.

Her timing was simply impeckable as Rika already jumped forward, fly kicking the third zombie and landing to her feet.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

Rika quickly turned around and stabbed her spear into the zombies stomach, rushing forward with it with as much strengh as she could muster, the zombies behind it getting caught with the spear in their torso too.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELCH!

Pulling out the spear and spinning around and stabbing it through the skull of the undead zombies this time.

Leaving them catatonic as she stepped back a little.

'Geez I really need to work on my fitness, then again I did have se- stop thinking about that when we have other people around Rika!'

Rika held her head and nodded dissapprovingly.

Letting out a few breaths of relief, she was bought back to the real world as she realized the situation, knowing she and her two friends were about to confront their saviour for their heroic act and to even fight alongside them.

Turning around she saw Saya and Kiriko fighting off the last two zombies left on the street, the rest dead with their limbs hanging off of them or their heads peentrated entirely.

The mysterious woman who helped in saving them walked closer to the car, opening the car door slightly and appeared to be checking for something or someone for a few seconds, giving something Rika to think about as she squinted her eyes.

'What is she doing?'

Rika walked forward and approached the woman slowly.

"Excuse me...? Thank you for saving us, we really do appreciate the help with that." Although Rika did not do thank you's, she appreciated help when it was needed.

The woman turned around and presented herself with an neutral expression.

"No problem, it was only my sister and her quick thinking that we spotted the zombies approaching you slowly." The woman smiled and reached out her hand for a handshake.

"I must thank your sister." Rika took the handshake and shook it gently.

"No need to thank me, I think we should be thanking you if anything, its good to know there are other survivours out there." A woman with a similar facial features stepped forward from behind the car, her arms cross as she smiled.

"Oh I see, well I am Rika. Rika Minami."

"Crystal Suzuki."

"Stella Suzuki."

"Nice to meet you ladies, I am Kiriko Miyamato."

"Thank you, I am Saya Takagi."

Saya and Kiriko who had dealt with their zombies had stepped into the conversation, shaking the hands of the girls as the introductions with relieved and happy smiles.

"I must admit I am surprised to see others alive who are willing to save us, especially now that most people who have survived are selfish."

"Or someone who is a pervert and evil."

Crystal and Stella were caught slightly off guard by the mention of a pervert by Saya who seemed to be the youngest out of the three they had just met, the two sisters wondered what type of people the women they had met had encountered.

"A pervert?" Crystal cocked her head sideways.

"An evil pervert?" Stella also cocked her head sideaways.

"A teacher you could say at my school was quite the pervert and quickly took advantage of girls for his own amusement." Saya let out a sigh, she remembered the retold story the others told her.

"People like that still roam this planet? Disgusting..." Stella's expression quickly changed.

"Yes well as much as I would love to talk about the hundreds of ways to murder an evil pervert and make sure he hangs by his balls, I think its time we discuss what is supposed to be happening from now." Kiriko crossed her arms and stepped forward in a leader like fashion.

"Oh right."

"Yes, I wanted to ask how you ladies have been able to survive this whole time? What's it been now? A month? Do you have your own group?" Kiriko questioned the two ladies.

"No we have been moving and finding different places to stay each night, especially with those children in all it makes it harder to some degree."

"Children?" Kiriko narrowed her eyes.

"Yes, I was a teacher before this all occured and..." Crystal dared not to speak on as she remembered some of the scenes she saw.

"Oh..."

"I will not press you for the information any further, I can tell its something you do not want to talk about after all."

"Is that why you were checking inside the car earlier?" Rika questioned.

"Yes, me and my sister have some survival skills due to our mother and father from years ago, however having six children on board and trying to survive in a world like this... It is not easy." Crystal let out a sigh, slightly concerned for her and her sister's future.

Alongside her students of course.

"..."

"..."

Rika and Saya remained silent as they turned to Kiriko who already knew what those 'looks' were.

"This may seem sudden but you have proven yourself to us by saving our lives when we could of been killed by those zombies. What I am trying to say is would you like to come with us? The rest of our group will and is back at Fujimi Academy."

"Why there?" Crystal remembered being a student at Fujimi Academy.

"Our leader Takashi a few weeks ago had put a plan together for our survival and deemed a high school that had been fenced off from the rest of society, or zombies anyway..." Rika cleared her throat and peared towards the car window, spotting several kids looking at them in amazement.

'How cute~'

Rika wanted to pick one of the children up and hold her as she slept peacefully.

"Before we say yes, we need to discuss this more."

"Right..."
