"Don't let her escape, or we all die!"
The shouts echoed behind her.
Ran Xueyi dashed straight onto the open path.
One man behind her raised his gun and aimed it perfectly at her back. His finger was just slightly far from pulling the trigger.
Just as he tried to shoot, a hand quickly grabbed him.
"Stupido! What are you thinking, aiming a gun at her?" the woman glared at the man.
Feeling slightly wronged, the man replied, "But she's running away. It's better to do this now than let her escape."
The woman was speechless. She understood that they weren't privy to some things. Besides, in the past, if a captured lamb escaped, an immediate execution was done. She didn't explain anything and stopped them from firing.
"If you so much as put a scratch on her, all of us will die on the spot," the woman warned them. "Do you understand?"
