"What is it?" Lyra asked, getting anxious as his silence prolonged, "What is happening, Victor?" He could not just inform her about the fight and then remain silent for what felt like hours. In reality, it was barely a minute, but she felt otherwise.
Sensing his mate's erratic emotions, Victor finally turned to her as he said, "They have stopped fighting, and I think the Fox king has left."
She blinked. "He left?" It came out as a doubt, a cautionary step to make sure she was hearing right. And when Victor gave an affirmative nod in reply, she visibly relaxed. It felt like the rock suffocating her chest was taken away. "Thank God."
