Her voice was small now, almost broken.
Then, the world twisted again.
She was no longer herself.
She looked down and gasped ... her body was different. Her hands were thinner, older. She was in someone else's skin.
And across from her ... standing in the dark ... was… herself.
Mirai stared at her own body. But something was wrong.
Her other self held a knife.
A long, silver blade that shimmered under a red light.
Mirai stepped back, shaking. "No… don't…"
Her other self smiled ... a horrible, sharp smile.
"Now you'll feel it too," the voice said, echoing from everywhere and nowhere.
"No! Don't do this! PLEASE!" Mirai screamed, backing up until she hit a wall.
But her body...that other Mirai...didn't care.
She stepped forward.
And then… the blade touched skin.
Pain exploded.
Mirai screamed so loud her throat burned. But it didn't stop.
The other Mirai kept hurting her, slowly, cruelly.
"No more!" she sobbed. "Stop! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
