The next day I woke up to mum and Ava arguing. Something I know that hardly happens.
" Mum, why my school?"
" Well so that you can keep an eye on her"
Great just what I needed this morning. I got up from bed and did my morning usuals and went down stairs for breakfast. Everyone was acting as if something was not right and I could see it. I just had to hit the hammer on the nail.
" What is happening, why is everyone quite"
" We wanted to tell you that you'll be going to the same school as Ava"
" I know that already. I heard the both of you arguing, is that all?"
" You'll be study the same course with Ava"
" Seriously, how far can you guys go"
" Look is not us, it's the school"
" Just forget about it. You got what you wanted. Bye"
I said as I left them in the dinning and went to my room. I lost my appetite for anything and just slept. I woke up later on and went to eat lunch, mum tried to bring up conversation with me but I was giving her short answers. After eating lunch I told mum I was going out and left them at home. I went to the garden that was close to the mall and sat there. Just enjoying the sweet scent of flowers and enjoying the birds sing until Sebastian broke that minute of silence.
" Hyy, long time no see"
" I guess you can say that, I don't usually come out often"
" No problem, so how are you?"
" Am okay, I guess"
" You guess, come on tell me"
" I don't feel like, can we change the topic if not I'll just go back my life of boredom"
" Calm down, how about I get you snacks or ice cream"
" That will work"
" Let's go then."
We entered the mall and got some ice cream and cookie. Then went back to the garden and well it was okay, we spoke, laughed and even made faces at people that passed by. It was evening and I was about leaving when Sebastian held my hand
" Can I have your number, maybe we can be in touch or something" He looked nervous and it was cute. I took his phone and put my number in his phone and left immediately I gave him his phone back. I went back home and the house was empty. I started preparing dinner, when mum came in from work.
" Thank you Lisa" She said and pecked me on my forehead and went to her room. Five minutes later everyone came down for dinner. Everyone was happy and jolly but I couldn't say the same for myself. I picked up the plates and dropped them in the kitchen for Ava to come wash them. After that everyone moved to the sitting room to watch TV but I didn't. Didn't feel like watching anything, just wanted to be in my room, in my space. I was about climbing the stair when my dad called me
" Won't you join us to watch a movie"
" I don't feel like dad, see you tomorrow. Good night" I said as I climbed up the stair. Before Dad do give me hugs and kisses before going to bed but ever since what happened in California everything changed. I miss does moments, sometimes I wish I never went to Cali. I entered my room took my bath and was about to go to sleep when my phone started ringing
" Hello please who is this?"
" Sorry am I talking to Lisa?"
" Yes, who is this, before I block you"
" It's Sebastian, wanted to make sure you didn't give me a fake number. How are you?"
" Am okay, about to go to bed"
" Oh, no problem then just called to check on you"
" Thank you, we'll talk tomorrow then"
" Sure, night"
In the morning my phone rang and saw Sebastian call
" Hyy, why are you calling this early"
" Do you know what time says"
" No" I checked and saw it was past 10
" Wow I slept that late. But why are you calling is there any problem"
" Nope I wanted to know if you'll be free tonight to go for camping"
" I can't, am grounded"
" No problem, we can see later today right"
" Yeah, talk later bye"
I dropped the call and opened my door and saw Ava eavesdropping
" Who was that"
" None of your business " I said and side stepped her, then went downstairs for breakfast. Everyone had left already except for Ava. I wonder what she is doing home. Most times she goes to her friends house.
" Why are you home?"
" Because my friend is not around, she went for spa day with her mum and aunt"
" So you don't have any other friend?"
" The rest are guys, so no"
I hated the fact she was home with me. I can't just stay home alone, without having to see their faces for just hours. It was annoying, because it felt like as if they want to control me through Ava. Which is kinda of annoying. I left Ava in the kitchen and went to room. Later she came barged into my room like as if I was about to run away.
" What do you want Ava"
" Nothing, just checking if your alive"
" Okay, am alive so leave"
" Are you going anywhere?"
" Yes, now please leave" I said as I pushed her towards the door and shut it in her face. I came out of my room and over heard Ava talking to mum telling her I was going out. Of course my parents wanted her to watch me, why did I even bother to believe the lie she told me. She dropped the call and was heading to my room when she saw I wasn't inside she started calling my name. I answered her but I was already outside and going towards the garden.
" Hey Ava, sorry I locked you indoors, I just wanted a me time. Don't worry I'll be back before you know it" I said into the phone and dropped it back in my bag. I reached the garden and saw that Sebastian was already waiting for me
" Hey, sorry I wasted time"
" It's okay, hope your okay. You look like you have a lot on your mind"
" Well just a little family drama, but I'll be okay"
" If you insist"
" So, why am I seeing you everywhere, might I add it's as if your following me"
" Not that am following you, just that we always meet cores dentally and I think I like that. I even came up with a pet name for you"
" Which is?"
" Cherry"
" What does it mean"
" It's a baby name for girls that points to a beautiful cherry tree"
"Thank you"
My phone rang and it was my mum calling. This time around I know I'm in trouble.
" I have to go Sebastian, see you later or tomorrow"
I left Sebastian in the garden and ran home. Well, I wasn't ready for another round of shouting. I got in and saw mum wasn't back so I went to room and stayed there at the end I slept off. Hoping that tomorrow is going to be better.
