Pitou, Meruem and Pouf stood outside of Komugi's door, plotting their scheme to break her promise and allow her to live longer.
"So of course we actually have to let her die first before we can take action." Meruem whispered to Pitou and Pouf in a small huddle outside of Komugi's door. "Pitou, I need you to do an operation you've never tried before."
"I've never tried before? I think you underestimate me, my King." Pitou said as they smirked and looked at Pouf. "I mean, you ever wonder why Pouf had boobs all of the sudden?"
"..." Pouf blushed and looked down.
"Of course, Pitou, but this time is different." Meruem said. He looked into Pitou's eyes and her smile faded. "This one will be on her mind."
"Hmm... now I understand..." Pitou muttered to themself. "So what is it? What do I have to do?"
"Komugi made a covenant a few years ago, that if she ever lost a game of gungi, she'd have to die." Meruem said.
"Ah..." Pitou said before their looked up from the huddle and walked towards the door. They placed their ear against it and listened with furrowed brows. "I can't use Nen... Komugi would surely sense me." Pitou crossed their arms and shut her eyes and thought hard. They had read the thoughts of the deceased before but didn't have experience changing them. What would they even change? Surely they'd have to change as little as possible in fear of creating an entirely different person.
"So... when do we know when she's dead? We can't wait forever." Pouf said.
"I'll have to kill her." Meruem said monotonously. "I'll go in there, and slice her open."
Pitou looked at Meruem worriedly and he looked back to reassure them. Meruem walked past the two of them and slowly grabbed the door knob. He twisted it and pulled it open to see Komugi sitting on the floor, facing away to the wall on the other side. Meruem walked forward to see an empty gungi board sitting in front of Komugi.
"S-Supreme Leader?" Komugi said as she lifted her head.
"Yes, it's me, Komugi." Meruem said, standing behind her. He guided his tail-blade to Komugi's waist.
"I'm glad you came... now I can thank you for everything you've done for me." Komugi said before turning around. Meruem quickly moved his tail before Komugi bumped into it. She looked up at Meruem, almost making eye contact. "Supreme Leader..." Tears ran from Komugi's eyes and snot ran from her nose to her chin. She sniffled and made inaudible noises before wiping her face with her sleeve.
"Don't worry, Komugi... I understand." Meruem's eyes widened with anticipation as he guided his tail blade back to Komugi's waist.
"S-Supreme Leader." Komugi said.
"Yes?" Meruem paused and replied.
"Will you do me the honor in... killing me?" Komugi said between sniffles. Meruem's mouth and eyes widened in shock before he regained his posture and took on a neutral expression.
"Of course, Komugi." Meruem inhaled sharply at the lies he was telling. It was time now. He put the blade up to Komugi's waist.
"Bye bye... Supreme Leader." Komugi said before Meruem closed his eyes and swiped his blade through her. He felt droplets of blood hit his face before hearing the sounds of Komugi dying as she choked on her own blood. Meruem gritted his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut, trying to ignore the horrible sound.
She was finished. Meruem exhaled then walked out of the room with his eyes still closed. Pitou and Pouf looked at Meruem worriedly as they saw him spotted with blood.
"Do I... still want to bring her back?" Meruem asked himself out loud. Pitou and Pouf looked in silence. "Pitou... it's your turn." Meruem said before walking away, his footsteps echoing through the halls.
