Mei watches expectantly.
"Well?" she asked.
"How was it? Is it not too sweet or bitter, right? I figured you wouldn't like too much sugar, so I used less of yours."
Gou Feng glanced up and gave her a small nod.
"It's good."
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
"Thank you. It tastes just right."
Hearing his reply, Mei visibly relaxed.
"Good. I would've been offended if you didn't like it."
Her teasing remark earned the slightest hint of amusement from Gou Feng.
"Is it all right if I ask something?"
Mei, who is now dipping one cookie into her cocoa, slowly looks at him.
"Sure. As long as it isn't something difficult to answer."
Gou Feng nodded and, without delay, said,
"The ministry beside the church..."
Hearing him mention the ministry and church, Mei immediately figured out what he wanted to know.
"Oh, Elder Memu has been helping there for years."
Following his gaze, she looked toward the photograph resting on the table.
"Lord Bai used to be the pastor there."
