Alex faltered slightly under his gaze — Eliott didn't look pleased at all, his expression cooled several degrees, something almost stern in his eyes as he studied her. A flicker of guilt crept in; he'd spent the entire night taking care of her, and here she was, apparently unwilling to take care of herself.
The truth, though, was rather different. He disliked the idea of her going out after being sick all night, certainly — but he wasn't actually against it. If anything, he wanted her mind anywhere but on what had happened the previous evening, and a bright day out with friends would do more for that than a day cooped up indoors ever could. The stern face was mostly reflex, the residue of a night spent worrying, and he knew it.
