Chapter 52 - CHAPTER 51

As the sun rose in the eastern horizon, two powerful beings stood opposite each other in the very same arena that Trinity had her first; and only battle.

True to his word, Marcus had kept the once powerful leader of the dragons in his own magical prison, from which he couldn't escape.

The spectators sat on the pavilion, from as early as dawn, as not to miss this much anticipated battle of the century... or you could say millennium.

Trinity's family were also there, cheering on her. Though her parents weren't excited about her battle with a much older dragon, they still came to show her their support. Martha, Dr Elise, Stacy and Emeralda were sitting in a protective circle around them, in case something goes wrong. Meredith couldn't come, and somewhere deep inside, Trinity felt happy. She didn't want her grandmother to see her all sweaty and bloody.

Marcus walked in, proudly holding his face high, chest pushed out. Everyone quitend down, as Marcus stood in the middle of the arena.

Taking in a deep breath, he began, "I, Marcus, welcome you each to this year's... first of a kind battle. For the first time in dragon history, humans have also joined us today, to bare witness to history being made." He looked towards the Dragon Lord in disgust, then continued, "for their better understanding, I'll repeat the rules... "

As he continued on, Trinity remembered her first battle. That green haired, green eyes boy.. was he even alive?

"Miss Grove? Are there any questions?" Marcus, and everyone else was staring at the dark haired girl, waiting for her answer.

"No!" She shook her head.

"Well than, you both shall choose a weapon."

They each went to the opposite side to choose their weapon. Trinity picked up an axe, while Ryphonsus picked a hammer, that Trinity felt belonged to Thor.

"Let round one... begin..." Marcus had only said this, when her opponent came rushing towards her, ready to strike. There was no sound of the bell.

Trinity managed to get out of the surprise attack by jumping out of the way, right before the hammer came crashing down, leaving a hole on the ground where she stood seconds ago.

Before she could recover from the shock, another blow came her way, which she also managed to avoid. She weilded her axe, ready this time and managed to block the third attack, as their faces came close enough. Ryphonsus eyes were full of hate, while Trinity showed a blank expression. For the Dragon Lord, this was the girl who shook his existence and was now threatening to overthrow his rule; while for Trinity, this was the monster who took away everyone she ever loved... her life was ruined by this lizard.

The crowd cheared on, as Trinity managed to push him off of her, and without wasting time, struck his shoulder with her weapon, but barely wounded him, as he had moved just in time.

The crowd went wild. Shouting, screaming and roaring their instructions.

Trinity spat blood, as the muscular man hit her straight in the face. Before she fully stood up, another blow landed on her stomach which made her crouch down, holding her abdomen. Within seconds, Trinity felt a huge hand grab her hair, pulling her upwards. She was glad that the hammer wasn't in his hand.

She went soaring through the air; right towards the shield. With all her might, Trinity took in a deep breath, and emptied her lungs as much as possible to make herself as heavy as possible, and it worked, as she fell inches away from disappearing.

An angry growl sounded, and Trinity felt the ground shake a little, as her opponent rushed at her. Trinity got up slowly, slyly waiting to end this monster. A small smile played on her lips as he got near. In just a few seconds, this beast will touch the shield, and be... he stopped, challenging her to fight. Had he sensed it?

"You didn't think I'm that desperate to kill you, that i'd do something so stupid, did you?" Ryphonsus said, clenching his fist.

Damn it. Trinity had to give him credit. How could she forget that he was responsible for the creation of the shield, so how did she think he'd forget about the powers it held.

As the smile on Trinity's face got replaced with disappointment, she heard laughter. "So you did think I'd fall for it... like everyone else. Triyast, Tyrone, Esmarald..."

This trick always worked. He just has to wait for her to make one insensible split second mistake, and victory will be his.

His laughter suddenly vanished, as the eyes of the girl changed from brown to a pitch black.

"And what about those innocent beings who didn't mean any harm?; who were just trying to save themselves?" Trinity asked, her voice heavy with malice. "What about innocent children, who couldn't even think of challenging you?"

The crowd went still. Pin drop silence spread across the arena. Patrick and Derek sat with their mouths open.

Ryphonsus realized too late that he had made a huge mistake. Out of everything in this entire magical land, 'she' had come. The witch of all witches, Alexandra!

"It's not a fair fight if you use your witch powers in-" "fair fight?" Alexandra cut in. "You talking about fairness is like a millionaire talking about not having money... it's funny."

The sound of the bell rang through everyone's ears, distracting them for some time."What's going on?" Patrick whispered in Dorin's ear, still looking at the girl who looked nothing like the daughter he raised.

"That's Alexandra, our ancestor."

"Where's Trinity?"

"I will answer all your questions after this battle."

Before Patrick could say anything else, a massive black dragon attacked an orange dragon, with black eyes. As far as he knew, Trinity had orange eyes in her dragon form.

Both dragons spat fire at each other, flying in circles, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Dorin sat on the seat, eyes watching the battle, mind racing around the fact that her daughter was fighting her biggest battle, while she was pregnant, and carrying not only her first granddaughter, but also the first witch of the new generation. She could only pray that Alexandra would protect her bloodline, having taken the sacrifice.

"Dorin? What's going on?" Patrick shook her.

"What? What's going on where?" Dorin asked, looking around, as her mind came back to the present moment.

"In your head! What's going on in your head?"

"No... nothing... just..."

"We've been married for ten... eleven years! I can read your face. What's bugging you?"

Dorin raised her eyebrow and looked at him, as if saying 'really'.

"Fine... it's more of a lawyer thing. Now tell me; and don't lie. I'll know," Patrick admitted, laughing lightly.

"It could be possible... I'm not sure... but Rin told me that she might be pregnant!"
