Chapter 6 - Nothing But A Snake

"Darling look at this!" A red haired woman gushed. She was admiring a beautiful ruby necklace.

Silas was busy staring at his phone, sending a quick email. Vivian huffed as she waved a hand in front of his face.

"Is work more important than me?" She pouted finally garnering his attention.

Silas quickly put his phone away and glanced over at the necklace.

"That necklace would look good on you." Silas responded fondly.

Vivians green eyes lit up. "Right! It would look amazing on me. It makes my eyes pop." She bubbled. She picked up the necklace out of the glass box and strung it around her neck. She whirled around, showing Silas how the necklace sparkled against her skin.

The shop attendant became panicked as she saw Vivian playing with the expensive and delicate necklace.

"Miss, I must ask you to be careful please. That necklace has not been purchased yet and it is very delicate." The attendant pleaded.

Vivian turned to the attendant with bitter eyes. She put the necklace in the box and walked towards the attendant. She flashed a look of rage as she raised her hand and slapped the poor attendant across the face.

"Do you know who I am?" Vivian screeched. "You dare treat me like someone who can't afford this necklace." The red haired girl looked down at the attendant.

"Please miss, I only meant that I just wanted to keep the necklace from breaking. You can't swing it around too much it is very fragile." The attendant bowed afraid of the woman before her.

Vivian's eyes went wide with rage. "You dare imply that I was reckless with the necklace. Who do you think you are?" She hissed as she raised her hand for another slap. Her wrist was caught by a strong but gentle hand.

Vivian was shocked as she looked up to see Silas glowering at the shop attendant. A grin spread across her face as she realized he was angry with the attendant and quickly turned on the water works.

"Darling. She insulted me." Vivian cried.

Silas glowered at the attendant. The attendants eyes grew in fear as she felt Silas staring into her soul with the fury of a thousand suns.

"Where is your manager." Silas demanded.

Vivian felt her pride grow as Silas' cold nature terrified the shop attendant. She wanted the rude girl to suffer more so she cried even harder. "Honey she was so rude to me." She wailed.

The shop attendant was shocked. She had been the one who was slapped, yet this woman was the one crying and making a fuss. She had only wanted the woman to be careful with the necklace.

The manager of the shop heard the ruckus and quickly came out of the back office.

"What's going on here?" The manager inquired. He quickly noticed the famous CEO and his blood ran cold.

The manager immediately bowed to the powerful man.

"Welcome Mr. Night. To what do I owe the pleasure of today's visit?" He groveled.

"Your attendant has insulted my girlfriend and by association, myself, while we were shopping for a new necklace." Silas growled.

The manager felt sweat drop from his forehead as he glared at the new shop attendant. The shop attendant was shivering in fear. She had no idea the man in front of her was the famous CEO. She was done for.

The manager cursed inwardly. It was a mistake to become an enemy to the Night family and he couldn't afford the repercussions that would come from insulting the CEO.

The manager turned to the shop attendant. "What are you doing? Quickly apologize to the beautiful young miss." The manager lectured.

The shop attendant turned in surprise. She had been slapped yet she was being asked to apologize.

"But I-" The shop attendant tried to explain the situation but was interrupted by Vivian.

"Honey, why are they so mean to me?" She cried behind her hands in order to hide her growing smirk. This wench would pay for insulting her.

The air grew frigid as Silas furrowed his brows in anger.

"Maybe this shop shouldn't exist then. I would hate for anyone to be insulted like my lovely Vivian has been today." Silas boomed.

The manager panicked as he quickly turned to Vivian.

"Miss, I am so sorry for this rude brat. Please be advised that she will no longer be an employee here and will face repercussions for insulting such a wonderful young woman." The manager fell to his knees in apology.

The shop attendant stood by, confused and wronged.

The manager quickly looked back at the shop attendant. "What are you still doing here? Get out of here you incompetent brat." The manager barked.

The young shop attendant ran out of the shop with teary eyes.

Although the shop attendant had left. Silas still had an aura of pure rage surrounding him. The manager trembled as he realized he would need to do more in order to escape his wrath.

The manager turned back to Vivian. "Now I would like to make this up to you. Please pick anything you like and I will give it to you free of cost for the trouble you went through today." The manager appeased the crying girl.

Vivian quickly perked up. "Ah I had found a very beautiful necklace." Vivian hesitated with teary eyes.

The manager looked at the necklace she was referring to and froze. It was the famous jewel of the blood moon. It's worth was in the high millions.

He didn't want to give that away for free. The manager took a quick glance at Silas. The threatening look told him he didn't have a choice in the matter.

He forced a smile as he turned back to Vivian. "Of course, let me box that up for you right away." He offered as he took the necklace and prepared it.

Vivian looked around and saw a beautiful pair of matching earrings. She inwardly sneered.

"Ah but I feel so hurt after being insulted like that. I don't think even that beautiful necklace could remedy my heart." She cried again.

The manager noticed she had been looking towards the matching earrings that were a pair to the necklace. He cursed. He couldn't give those away too. They were worth too much.

He chanced a look at Silas hoping that the necklace would suffice. Silas eyes were glaring through the manager. He gritted his teeth as he discovered it was not enough.

"Ah dear lady, please do not cry. I will also throw in the matching earrings to the necklace. I hope that will ease your heart." He choked through his forced smile.

Vivian smiled at the manager. "Ah yes I believe that would make me feel much better. Thank you kind sir."

The manager whimpered inside as Vivian took the box with the necklace and the earrings.

Silas turned and left with Vivian following closely behind, leaving the manager mourning the loss of the expensive jewelry.

Silas and Vivian continued down the street when Silas stopped and glanced toward Vivian.

"Are you alright now?" He asked fondly.

Vivian beamed at Silas. "Yes I am." Her face fell. "You're not angry with me though right?" She asked with puffy eyes.

Silas smiled as he took the box and fastened the necklace around Vivian's neck.

"Of course not. I could never be angry with you. You are my most important person after all." He consoled her.

She smiled at him.

He looked at her smiling face and sighed inside. He knew he had to treat her well. Especially considering he would need to tell her soon about the contract.

"Vivian," He gave her a small smile. "You know I care about you. You also are going to become my wife one day, I have already promised you as much." He told her with as much warmth as the cold CEO could manage.

"It looks good on you. You should wear it often." He complimented.

Vivian glowed as twirled in her reflection from a store window. It was so nice that she got these for free. And with what happened in the store she would be able to convince Silas to take her shopping a bit more today.

Vivian was in high spirits as she pointed to a nearby store.

"Ooh that store always has beautiful dresses. Let's go there next." Vivian gleamed with greedy eyes.

Silas smiled as he followed her along on her personal shopping trip.

After a few shops, Silas stopped and looked at the time.

"Vivian I have to leave." Vivian swirled around, still looking at clothes to try on.

"Now? But I'm not done looking yet." She frowned.

"Sorry, I promise I'll come with you next time." He apologized.

Vivian soured as she put the clothes back. She would have to convince him to come with her again soon. She liked having him buy her everything she wanted. She felt like a princess with how much he doted on her.

Silas and Vivian exited the store and began to head towards the parking lot. Vivian caught his arm and Silas quickly pulled away. He hated having anyone touch him, even if it was Vivian.

He caught the hurt look on Vivian's face. He felt guilty but averted his eyes.

"What is it?" He asked her.

"I thought I would stay and have lunch before going home." Vivian answered.

Silas nodded. That was the original intention of their outing but he had unintentionally taken her on a shopping spree instead. He felt his own stomach growl in hunger but now he had no time to have lunch. He had to get back to the office.

"Alright. Contact me when you arrive home." He gave her a small smile and headed towards the parking lot.

Vivian waved goodbye at him with a large smile. Once he was out of sight, her smile turned greed filled. She laughed as she looked down at all her treasures she had gained today.

Vivian quickly took out her phone and made a call. It rung a few times before a gruff male answered.

"Hello?" The male answered.

"Hi sweetie. You'll never guess what I got today!" Vivian exclaimed.

The voice didn't respond so she quickly decided to list off her treasures of the day.

"I received so many things a necklace, earrings, dresses, all sorts of designer clothing. Ah this feels so good." She happily sighed.

"I hope you remember your original goal." The male advised authoritatively.

Her smirk returned. "Of course. I couldn't forget that. It's so nice how he dotes on me though. Ah this was such a wonderful idea. He foolishly buys me whatever I want, whenever I want. I have him wrapped around my little finger." She cackled.

"He hasn't realized anything is amiss yet correct?" The male responded.

"No of course not. He believes everything I've told him. He treats me like a goddess." She gloated.

"I see. I hope you aren't falling for him." The man mused.

"No way. He's just a fool that I'm making good use of. You know that you're the only one in my heart." Vivian objected quickly.

"Good girl. Has he mentioned anything about the will yet?" The man probed.

"No nothing yet. Why?" Vivian quizzed.

"I'll tell you in good time my dear. Have you supplied him with the false infertility results as well?" The man avoided her question.

"Yes I did. I still don't see why that was necessary though. He won't even let me grab his arm, much less take him to bed." Vivian huffed.

"That's good. Alright remember to keep me updated." The man demanded.

"Wait. Will I get to see you soon? I feel like it's been so long." She pleaded to the man.

There was silence on the other end of the phone. Vivian waited on pins and needles until she heard a soft sigh.

"I miss you too Vivian. But everything we've worked for could go down the drain if we are caught together. Please understand love." The man responded with a sad tone.

Vivians eyes grew sad. "Please just one night." She begged. "I don't want to continue this if I can't see you anymore." She cried.

Silence filled the air.

"Fine I'll set up a night next week." The man finally agreed and hung up the phone.

Vivian gleamed in excitement. Excited for the week ahead.

She looked around. She wanted to show off the treasures she had just received and quickly scrowled through her phone looking for the poor soul she would invite to lunch in order to brag about her new possessions.

She quickly picked one and made a call for them to join her for lunch.

A man with blonde hair and gray eyes hung up the phone. He groaned as he set down his glass of wine.

That girl irked him so much. She was so insistent on seeing him.

She was a good tool though. Perfect for the role he had cast her in. She told him everything he needed to know about his dear brother. He imagined the look of betrayal that would stain his brother's face when he eventually found out that Vivian was nothing but a snake he had let in without question.

The blonde man smiled in excitement.

"Soon." He hissed with a sneer as he turned back to the woman he had waiting for him in his bed.
