The time had finally come. Everyone was prepared as they could be. They gathered up all their weapons and gear, then headed out in every vehicle they had. They all went in different directions in order to keep it inconspicuous. Eventually, they arrived at Halix. It had been so long since Serenity was back there. It was so different. Like everything, Abrianna tainted it with her actions. Once peaceful streets were now places of fear. Serenity tightens her grip on the motorcycle's handle before coming to a stop. She raises PAM to her face. PAM was currently in communication relay mode. "I'll catch up with y'all later. There's something I need to see." she says. She then drives off in a different direction.
Eventually, she had arrived at the place that her mother's house once was, only to find a monument to Abrianna in the form of an automaton, and a plaque describing her success against The Remnants of the Old World. Serenity walks up to it and falls to her knees. Her fist slams into the statue. The impact stings, but she's too rageful to care. After a long moment, she starts to stand up, but before she can, she is tackled onto the ground. "I finally got you Clemente, and here of all places. How dare you defile my home with your presence?" Isaiah says in disgust. "It's mine too." Serenity says, as she manages to push him off of her. She jumps up and readies herself for battle. "Why do you continue to spout these lies?" He says. "They're not lies!" Serenity's voice cracks slightly. "It's the truth!" "This place was my home — our home." She gives him a sincere look. He raises an eyebrow. "You really believe what you're saying." He realizes. He then scoffs. "I guess I was right. You are senile. I almost feel sorry for you." He says. He attempts to strike her, but she blocks his fist. They fight for a while, and eventually, he gets frustrated. "Urgh. Enough of this." He says as blades materialize in his hands. "I'll just bring you back to her damaged." He swipes at her, but she dodges it. As she was dodging his blades, Serenity remembered when Lucas told her about the first time he saw Frieda. Serenity then pulls out the locket from beneath her shirt, opens it, and shows it to him. A look of shock appears on his face as he looks at the picture. His mind is flooded with unfamiliar memories and feelings. Faces he once viewed as enemies now seemed like long forgotten friends, and Serenity... she truly was... No. No, this was a trick. It had to be. He starts to hyperventilate and his hands tremble. "No... No, it's not true!" He attempts to steady his hands, but they wouldn't stop shaking. "It's... it's one of your tricks, surely!" He says, as he swipes at her. Despite the statement, his tone seemed unsure. "You're just... delusional! It's fake! It has to be!" He says as his swipes become more desperate. "It can't be true! It... It can't." He falls to his knees. "Isaiah..." She says with concern. His eyes then start to tear up. "Is everything I know a lie?" He asks, looking at his hands as they curl slightly. "Is my love for her a lie?" He asks, hugging himself. Serenity kneels down and puts a hand on his shoulder. She then tries to find the words, but before she gets the chance to speak, he shoves her off and stands up. "Leave me be." He says as he starts to walk away. "Isaiah..." Serenity says with concern. She grabs his hand, and he clenches his fists. He didn't want to be around anyone right now. He kicks her and she falls to the pavement with a grunt. "I said go!" He yells. "I need to be alone." He continues to walk away. She pushes herself onto her hands and knees. Her head hangs low as tears well up in her eyes. She wanted to follow him, but she knew when someone needed to be left alone. After a moment, she wipes her eyes with the back of her hand and gets up. She then brings PAM up to her face. "Hey. I'm coming back." She says flatly. "Okay. Is something wrong, Serenity?" Lucas asks, noticing her tone. "No. No, I'm fine. I'll be there in a bit." Her voice was a little shaky, but he didn't want to pry. "Okay. I'll see you when we get to the Tower of Unity." He says. "Mhm." She responds. She then mounts her motorcycle and drives off.
