"But it's a desert" Jake replied angrily, his brother Barrett just looked at him like he was an idiot.
Jake had always been the favorite growing up that was until his brother developed a B-tier Fire ability and he developed nothing. It was a disappointment to the examiners and his father because he was the favored child.
Barrett's mother was a prostitute that his father 'James' had impregnated when he was 19. When James was 28 years old Barrett's mother 'Linda' saw that he had a guild and realized that even though she was struggling to support Barrett that James could do it easily so she begged James to take Barrett under his custody saying that she would never bother him again and James reluctantly accepted.
Jakes mom 'Cherry' had died when she was giving birth to him.
His father 'James' owned a B rank guild that had a total of 87 C-tiers, 13 B-tiers, and 1 A-tier. An A rank guild requires a multitude of A-tiers or 1 S-tier.
Abilities were important because in 20XX dungeons suddenly appeared all over the world. Scientists started to study dungeons only to realize there were monsters inside and that their guns lacked the ability to kill them then people started gaining abilities the government changed and used a new way to develop instead of using education (basic education was still required) they used abilities and made guilds.
Since Jake's father owned a B rank guild and his father himself had a B-tier levitation ability the examiners were expecting more, they looked at Jake in disgust when they realized he was someone who didn't have an ability.
Ever since then James grew closer to his first son Barrett and stopped paying attention to Jake he moved Jake into a house further away from where he lived and moved Barrett closer to him.

"Fine I'll go but are you coming with me?"
"No"
"Fine I'll go alone there was no need to be such a d*ck about it"
"Whatever"
Jake went to his house and stormed up the stairs before shouting "Can I have my bag?"
"Yes sir" his maid Mary replied after locating him.
She handed him his luggage it was light like there was barely anything in it.
Jake rushed into his room before changing into a simple Hawaiian Shirt and shorts.
He knew he wasn't going to Hawaii as Hawaii had been destroyed by the dungeon monsters long ago but he could treat it like it was Hawaii even though he didn't know what Hawaii was like as it had been gone long before he had been born.
As he finished changing he open the door and then twisted the knob somewhat dreading the heat that was about to come.
He saw the chauffeur that was going to drive him to whatever desert resort he had to go to.
The moment he got in the car the chauffeur started driving immediately.
The driver stopped all of a sudden and then there was this pain in his heart only to realize there was a gaping hole through his chest.
