"Your Majesty, please tell all the guards to leave here this minute," Ling said in a voice that was almost like a whisper.
However, Sek did not respond to what Ling had said to him. He could not respond. It was as if he was frozen at the spot where he was standing. Sek just stood and glared at Seth in his 'demon' form. His fingers were tightly wrapped around the hilt of his sword, ready for any attack or defense. The hairs at the back of Sek's neck stood erect and there was a chill that intermittently ran through his spine.
Ling noticed that the king did not make a move regarding what he had suggested. What he wanted to do could be dangerous and he did not want to put the lives of the innocent guards at risk.
Left to Ling, he would have preferred that the king left the room -- the king and his mother, Queen Zyne -- but Ling knew that Sek would not agree to that. There was no way he would conform to that idea. So, the wizard did not even bother to bring that up.
