(ROSIE'S POV)
I woke up before the alarm.
For a few seconds, I lay quietly on the soft hotel bed, listening to the gentle hum of the air conditioner and the faint sounds coming from the hallway.
Then I remembered. Today was my wedding day. My heart jumped.
I sat up slowly and looked toward the chair where my wedding dress was carefully placed.
The dress looked beautiful in the early morning light. The delicate fabric seemed to glow as the sunlight entered through the curtains.
I smiled.
"So this is really happening." I touched my engagement ring and whispered a prayer.
"Lord, thank You for bringing me this far. Please bless this marriage and let everything go well today."
I looked across the room at Jerry. He was already awake. He smiled when our eyes met.
(JERRY'S POV)
"Good morning, beautiful bride."
(ROSIE'S POV)
I laughed softly.
"Good morning."
(JERRY'S POV)
"How did you sleep?"
(ROSIE'S POV)
"Not very well."
(JERRY'S POV)
"Why?"
(ROSIE'S POV)
"Because I'm getting married today."
(JERRY'S POV)
I laughed. "So am I too." As
(ROSIE'S POV)
We both smiled.
For a moment, we simply looked at each other. There was excitement in his eyes. I could see it.
(JERRY'S POV)
I couldn't believe the day had finally arrived. I had imagined this moment countless times.
But now it was real. Rosie was going to become my wife as I reached for her hand.
"We made it."
She smiled.
(ROSIE'S POV)
"Yes, we did."
(JERRY'S POV)
I remembered everything we had experienced together.
The difficult moments, The family introduction, The disagreement with her stepbrother, And the night at the hotel when I finally told her that I had lost my job.
She had looked at me and said:
"We are in this together."
Those words still gave me strength. Today, I wasn't thinking about the job I had lost.
I was thinking about the future I was gaining.
(ROSIE'S POV)
The hotel room soon became busy. The makeup artist arrived with her large makeup case.
She greeted me cheerfully.
(MAKEUP ARTIST POV)
"Good morning, bride!"
(ROSIE'S POV)
"Good morning."
(MAKEUP ARTIST POV)
"Are you ready?"
(ROSIE'S POV)
I laughed.
"As ready as I can be."
She opened her case, and the room quickly filled with the gentle fragrance of her beauty products.
She arranged her brushes, powders, creams and other items carefully.
I sat before the mirror while she began working on my face.
(MAKEUP ARTIST POV)
"Please keep your eyes closed."
(ROSIE'S POV)
I obeyed.
The soft touch of the makeup brush moved across my face. Every few minutes, she stepped back to examine her work.
(MAKEUP ARTIST POV)
"You're going to look stunning."
(ROSIE'S POV)
I smiled.
"I hope so."
(MAKEUP ARTIST POV)
"You will."
(JERRY'S POV)
Alright ladies, I have to excuse you guys now. I have to get ready. The moment I opened the door, The photographer arrived shortly afterward.
He walked into the room carrying his camera equipment.
(PHOTOGRAPHER POV)
"Good morning, everyone!"
"Good morning," we replied.
(JERRY'S POV)
He immediately started looking around. His eyes moved from the wedding dress to the flowers, shoes, jewellery and other wedding accessories.
(PHOTOGRAPHER POV)
"This room is full of memories waiting to be captured,".
(JERRY'S POV)
I smiled. Then he began taking pictures.
Click.
Click.
He took another picture.
Then he started recording videos.
The makeup artist continued working while the photographer captured the process.
Sometimes he asked Rosie to look toward the window.
Other times he asked her to smile naturally.
(PHOTOGRAPHER POV)
"Don't worry about the camera Rosie," "Just enjoy your moment."
(ROSIE'S POV)
The room was filled with laughter. The makeup artist occasionally asked me not to move.
(MAKEUP ARTIST POV)
"Madam, please!"
(ROSIE'S POV)
I laughed.
"I'm trying!"
The photographer laughed.
(MAKEUP ARTIST POV)
"That's perfect. Keep smiling."
The camera flashed repeatedly.
Click.
Click.
Click.
He captured everything. From the makeup artist applying the final touches, My wedding shoes, My bouquet, My jewellery, My dress.
Even the nervous smile on my face.
I knew these photographs would become memories I would treasure for the rest of my life.
(JERRY'S POV)
While Rosie was getting ready, I stepped outside to next room to get ready. My grooms men had long been waiting to dress me up.
The morning air felt fresh.
I could hear vehicles moving along the road and people talking as they went about their day.
But for me, everything felt unusually quiet. While getting dressed up, I looked at my phone.
There were already messages from family and friends.
Congratulations!
Today is your day!
God bless your marriage!
I smiled as I read them.
Then my uncle called.
(JERRY'S UNCLE POV)
"Jerry."
(JERRY'S POV)
"Yes, Uncle."
(JERRY'S UNCLE POV)
"Are you ready?"
(JERRY'S POV)
"Yes."
(JERRY'S UNCLE POV)
"Everyone is already at the church."
(JERRY'S POV)
My heart skipped.
"Already?" As I questioned
(JERRY'S UNCLE POV)
"Yes. We're waiting for the celebrant."
(JERRY'S POV)
I smiled.
"I'll be there soon."
(ROSIE'S POV)
When the makeup artist finally finished, she turned the mirror toward me.
I stared at my reflection. For a moment, I couldn't speak.
My makeup was elegant and carefully done. My hair was beautifully styled. I looked like a bride.
"Wow," I whispered.
The photographer immediately raised his camera.
(PHOTOGRAPHER POV)
"That's the reaction I wanted."
(ROSIE'S POV)
Everyone laughed.
He captured the moment.
Then I stood up and put on my wedding dress. The soft fabric brushed against my skin as I moved.
My makeup artist helped me adjust it.
When I looked in the mirror again, tears gathered in my eyes.
I was ready.
(JERRY'S POV)
At the church, the atmosphere was becoming more exciting.
Family members had already taken their seats. Friends and invited guests filled the church.
There were greetings everywhere.
People were smiling, shaking hands and taking pictures.
Some guests whispered among themselves as they waited for the ceremony to begin.
The scent of flowers filled the church. The decorations were beautiful.
Soft music played quietly in the background.
Everyone was waiting for the celebrant.
I sat near the front, looking toward the entrance every few seconds.
I couldn't wait to see Rosie.
(ROSIE'S POV)
Before leaving the hotel, my mother came into the room.
She stopped when she saw me.
For several seconds, she simply stared.
(ROSIE'S MUM POV)
"My daughter..."
(ROSIE'S POV)
"Mum."
Her eyes became wet.
(ROSIE'S MUM POV)
"You look so beautiful."
(ROSIE'S POV)
"Thank you."
She hugged me tightly.
I could smell her familiar perfume as I rested my head against her shoulder.
(ROSIE'S MUM POV)
"Today is your day," as I whispered.
"Enjoy it."
(ROSIE'S POV)
I nodded.
"Thank you for everything."
The photographer captured our embrace.
He took several pictures of us together. Then he asked us to smile.
We did.
Those moments felt precious.
(JERRY'S POV)
Meanwhile, the reception hall had already been transformed.
It looked magnificent.
The tables were arranged neatly, covered with beautiful tablecloths.
The chairs were dressed elegantly. The stage had been decorated specially for the newlyweds.
Flowers were arranged around the venue.
The wedding cake stood proudly at the centre, beautifully decorated and waiting for the couple.
The lights gave the hall a warm, welcoming glow. The smell of freshly prepared food drifted through the hall.
Everything had been arranged in grand style. The organizers moved around, checking the final details.
The sound system was being tested. Music filled the room.
It was clear that everyone had put a lot of effort into making the day special.
(ROSIE'S POV)
Finally, it was time to leave the hotel.
I took one last look at myself in the mirror. I smiled. Then I looked at my mother.
"I'm ready."
(ROSIE'S MUM POV)
I nodded.
"Go and be happy."
(ROSIE'S POV)
I stepped into the vehicle.
As we drove toward the church, I looked out through the window.
My heart was beating faster with every passing minute.
I kept thinking:
I'm getting married.
(JERRY'S POV)
Then I heard the music change. The church became quiet. Everyone turned toward the entrance.
I stood.
And there she was.
Rosie! My bride.
For a moment, everything around me disappeared. I could hear nothing but the beating of my own heart.
She looked beautiful. The dress, The makeup, The smile.
Everything.
I felt tears gathering in my eyes.
"Thank God," I whispered.
(ROSIE'S POV)
As I walked down the aisle, I saw Jerry waiting for me.
Our eyes met.
He smiled.
I smiled back.
The sound of the music filled the church. Every step brought me closer to the man I loved. I could feel the eyes of our families and friends on us.
But I wasn't nervous anymore. I was happy.
When I finally reached Jerry, he took my hand.
(JERRY'S POV)
"You look beautiful," I whispered.
(ROSIE'S POV)
"Thank you."
(JERRY'S POV)
The celebrant welcomed everyone and began the ceremony.
The church became completely quiet. We listened carefully. Then came the vows.
I looked into Rosie's eyes.
"I promise to love you, support you and stand beside you through every season of life."
My voice trembled slightly.
"I promise that whatever comes our way, we will face it together."
Rosie's eyes filled with tears.
(ROSIE'S POV)
When it was my turn, I looked at Jerry.
"I promise to love you, respect you and stand by you."
I took a breath.
"I will support your dreams and believe in you, even when things become difficult."
I remembered the night he told me about losing his job.
"I believe in the man you are, and I believe in the man you will become."
Jerry's eyes became wet.
I smiled through my tears.
(JERRY'S POV)
The rings were brought forward. I took Rosie's hand. Her fingers trembled slightly.
I slowly placed the ring on her finger. She then took my ring and placed it on mine.
(PRIEST)
The celebrant smiled.
"By the authority vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife."
(JERRY'S POV)
The church erupted. Applause filled the room. People cheered. Some guests stood.
My heart filled with joy. I turned toward Rosie.
"My wife."
She laughed through her tears.
(ROSIE'S POV)
"My husband."
We embraced.
The moment felt magical.
There were hugs everywhere. Our families came forward to congratulate us.
People took pictures.
The photographer moved around us, capturing every smile, every embrace and every tear of happiness.
My mother hugged Jerry. Jerry's uncle hugged me. Friends gathered around us.
The church was filled with laughter and joy.
We had finally done it.
(JERRY'S POV)
When we arrived at the reception, the hall erupted in cheers.
Music filled the air. People clapped as we walked in.
The smell of delicious food filled the room.
The decorations looked even more beautiful than I had imagined.
Rosie looked around.
"Wow."
I smiled.
"It's beautiful."
She held my hand.
"We did all this?"
I laughed.
"Apparently."
(ROSIE'S POV)
The reception was full of life. There were speeches. There was music.
There was dancing.
There was laughter.
Our friends and family celebrated with us.
The photographer continued capturing everything. He took pictures of us cutting the cake. He recorded our first dance.
He captured our families dancing.
He even captured moments when we were laughing without realizing the camera was there.
The wedding cake was beautiful. When Jerry and I cut it together, everyone cheered.
We fed each other and laughed.
(JERRY'S POV)
During our first dance, I held Rosie close.
The music played softly around us.
I looked into her eyes.
"Are you happy?"
She smiled.
(ROSIE'S POV)
"Very happy."
(JERRY'S POV)
She rested her head against my chest.
For that moment, I forgot about everything else.
I wasn't thinking about my job.
I wasn't thinking about Rosie's stepbrother.
I wasn't thinking about tomorrow.
I was simply enjoying the woman I loved.
(ROSIE'S POV)
Later, I looked around the hall.
Our families were smiling. Our friends were dancing. The music was loud.
The room was filled with laughter, perfume, flowers and the delicious aroma of food.
I thought about how far we had come. There had been challenges. There had been disagreements.
There had been moments when things could have gone wrong. But we had held on.
And now, I was standing beside my husband.
I looked at Jerry.
He looked at me and smiled.
(JERRY'S POV)
"We're married," .
(ROSIE'S POV)
I laughed.
"Yes, we're married."
(JERRY'S POV)
I thought about the night at the hotel when I had told Rosie that I had lost my job.
I had been afraid that the news would change her mind.
Instead, she had reminded me that we were in it together.
She believed in my skills. She believed in my talent. She believed in my intelligence. She believed in me.
And now she was my wife. I held her hand.
"Thank you for believing in me."
She smiled.
(ROSIE'S POV)
"I'll always believe in you."
(JERRY'S POV)
I kissed her forehead.
(ROSIE'S POV)
As the celebration continued, I realized that the wedding wasn't just about the beautiful dress, the decorations, the music or the photographs.
It was about two people choosing each other. It was about commitment.
It was about standing together when life became difficult. It was about believing in each other.
I squeezed Jerry's hand.
"We are in this together."
"Always."
(JERRY'S POV)
As the evening slowly came to an end, the music became softer.
Guests were beginning to leave. Our families came to say their final congratulations.
I looked around the hall one last time. The flowers. The decorated tables. The wedding cake.
The photographs. The smiling faces.
Everything reminded me of how special the day had been.
I looked at Rosie.
My wife.
I smiled.
"We made it."
(ROSIE'S POV)
"Yes, we did."
We walked out together, hand in hand.
The night air was cool against my skin.
I could still hear faint music and laughter coming from the reception hall behind us.
I looked at Jerry.
"Are you ready for our new life?"
(JERRY'S POV)
I smiled.
"With you? Always."
(ROSIE'S POV)
I rested my head on his shoulder.
The journey ahead was unknown. There would be good days. There would be difficult days.
There would be moments when we would have to make sacrifices and encourage each other.
But I wasn't afraid.
Because I knew I wasn't walking into the future alone.
I had Jerry.
And he had me.
(JERRY'S POV)
I looked at my wife and held her hand tightly.
The woman I had loved was now my wife.
The woman who had stood by me was now my partner for life.
I smiled.
"Let's go home, wife."
(ROSIE'S POV)
I laughed.
"Yes, husband."
We walked away together, surrounded by the love and blessings of our families.
And as the night embraced us, I knew that our wedding day was not the end of our story.
It was the beginning of our life together.
A life built on love.
A life built on faith.
A life built on trust.
And above all—
A life built on the promise that no matter what came our way,
we would face it together.
THE END
