It's our fifth day in this resort and it's only two days before we go back to Manila.
When I woke up, my friends aren't here in our room. They left me again but, it's okay I understand. I changed my clothes and brought the things that the three men lent me. I knocked on their door but there was no one in their rooms so I went outside of the hotel. I was searching for them when Wade and Treena approached me.
"We'll go home now," Wade said.
"Be careful on your way home." I smiled at them.
"Please call me if you're already in Manila. I want to bond with you." Treena said while clinging to Wade's right arm.
"Sure!" I exclaimed. "I want to tell you something about Wade's dirty past so you two won't end up together. If you've learned about his past, you'll surely break up with him."
"Hey! You devil woman. I don't have any dark past." Wade hissed at me.
"You've had!" I'm ready to land my fist on his face.
"Just try to tell her and I won't let you live." He threatened me.
"Do you want me to tell her right now?" I smirked.
"Tell me, Louise, so I can cancel our wedding." Treena teased him as well.
We laughed at Wade's reaction so I stopped teasing him.
"Just kidding. He's a good man, Treena. He knows how to treat his girl rightly." I smiled.
"Hey, Wade! Who's that beautiful woman?" One of his friends asked.
I looked at them and immediately bow. I'm shy to talk with them.
"I'm Bryan and you are?" He stretched out his hand.
I don't know if I should tell him what's my real name and if I should accept his hand but I may be rude if I reject him so I looked at him and smiled sweetly.
"My name is Loui--" Someone cut my words.
"Hey!" I saw Jacob running towards us. "We're waiting for you."
"Who are you?" Bryan asked him.
Instead, Jacob accepted his hand. "My name is Jacob."
"I didn't ask your name." Bryan let go of his hand. "I was asking the name of the woman beside you."
I was startled when Jacob put his hand on my shoulders. He always does this and I'm becoming comfortable with his gestures. I feel safe.
He smiled at him. "She won't let you know her so sorry."
Bryan smirked. "And why? Are you her boyfriend?"
"No, but I should protect her from you." He smiled again sweetly. "Collecting girls is your hobby, isn't it?"
He clenched his fist and couldn't speak. I think Jacob hits the bullseye.
"We have to go." He held my arm. "To Louise's best friend and his girlfriend goodbye. Best wishes to you lovebirds."
I just waved at them while Jacob grabbed me away from them. We stopped and watched our friends while swimming in the sea.
"You should be careful of those men who have a bad motive with you." He said while looking at me.
I smiled. "Okay noted!"
I was intimidated by his stares so I averted my gaze in the surroundings.
"Let's go to our friends. We have a lot of activities to do." He said before he walked ahead of me.
I was behind him and I'm still holding the things that the three members lent to me. When I saw Justin, I ran towards him and I didn't bid goodbye to Jacob.
"Why are you running?" Justin asked when I got in front of him.
"I-I just want to give these things back to your Hyungs," I said while holding my knees. "I have to go back to our friends. Bye! Thanks." I said after I handed the jackets and towel to him.
I ran again towards my companions to join our first activity which is to look for little critters. They are in a shallow part of the sea and because I don't know how to swim I sat on the sand and just watched the surroundings. They are all happy even the other group, they're playing a game.
I looked up in the clear sky and stared at it. The sky is so beautiful. I wonder if the clouds are edible like cotton candy. I remember when I was young I used to reach the sky because I want to go there and get a pinch of clouds or the stars.
"Hey, you're spacing out again." It was Justin and he sat beside me.
"I was just looking at the sky," I replied.
He just nodded and looked up in the sky as well.
"Do you like astronomy subject?" He asked.
"No. I just like stars, moon, and sky." I replied.
"I thought you like it." He muttered. "But if you were born again, what do you want to become? Stars, moon, or sun?"
"Stars. I'm one of the stars that brights for you." I replied. I saw him blush and smile widely.
"Do you know why I was asking those things?" He asked again.
"Why? Are you interested in that subject?"
"No. I just wanted to communicate with you." He replied. "You're cute when you're staring into space."
I was blushed that's why I hit him. I don't know what I should say when someone compliments me. I'm not used to it.
"Hey, you two. Let's eat!" Marie shouted behind us.
I stood up first and reached out his hand so we can walk together. When we entered the dining area, they were already sitting there. I sat between Coleen and Axel.
"Let us pray," Lovie said.
After we prayed, we eat our lunch together with background music. It's all Filipino songs and we love it. My friends and I stood up and feel like we're in a concert using our fork as a mic.
"Are you still waiting for someone who's already engaged?" Haye suddenly asked. We stopped and looked at her.
Is she referring to me?
"Who are you asking?" I asked while chewing slowly.
"You." She pointed to me.
I frowned at her. "No. Why would I wait for him if he's in love with his fiancé? I'm not a wrecker and I'm indeed happy for... Him." I secretly looked at Marvin.
They stopped eating and looking at me like they're pitying me.
"Don't ask me like that if you will pity me. I'm happy for being single and it's not the end of the world if I'm still single in my 30s, 40s, 50s, or worst forever. We were born to be alone and we will die alone." I said while not looking at them.
"I'm just asking, why are you so serious?" Haye said.
"I'm not serious, I'm just saying the fact that I'm happy," I uttered.
"You're just 25 years old, Louise. In the future, you will meet a lot of different people, and what if in a million people there's someone who was destined for you? Stop being hopeless. We can't predict our future." Lovie said while looking at me.
I just shrugged my shoulder and continue eating.
"Louise, do you want this?" I heard Jacob ask so I lifted my head and looked at him. He's pointing at his chicken.
I just shook my head as my response and pointed as well at the chicken on my plate.
"Can I have it instead, Jacob?" Marie asked. He gave his chicken to Marie.
We continued our activity after lunch. Our group sat on the sofa and picked magazines. My eyes were focused on the magazine when Jacob gently nudged me with his elbow.
"Louise, take a look at this. The interior design of this house is so pleasing. Is it color beige and white or brown and white?" He asked.
"It's color beige. This looks so good. I want this house in the future." I said before I looked back on my magazine.
"Let's build this house together." He whispered. He thought I couldn't hear it but, my hearing ability is so good.
I just ignored him and secretly smiled. He's not that showy but, all I can say is why? Why did he like me? Why did they like me? I still can't believe that these men are like me. All my life I thought I wasn't attractive like every woman, I'm neither beautiful nor cute. I'm just me, breathing, existing, and surviving.
"Look at these wedding gowns!" Laura exclaimed and placed the magazine on the desk in front of us.
We're checking the gowns and it's really beautiful. Coleen pointed to one of the gowns because she wants to wear it at her wedding and we agreed to her, it suits her well.
"Louise?" Coleen called my name. I looked at her.
"Ahmmmm... we're sorry," Laura said with puppy eyes.
My forehead wrinkled while looking at them. "Why? Did you do something wrong?"
"Yes. It's a prank!" I was startled by their sudden shout.
I roamed my gaze around and the other group is also in the lobby.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" I still don't know what they're saying.
"I don't have a girlfriend and it's all prank. From the day Justin grabbed you and talked to you about engagement thingy. It was all planned." Marvin said while sitting beside me.
"So?" I said. "I knew it from the start. I just want to go with the flow." I lied.
"Are you not happy that Marvin is not engaged to anybody?" Junior asked.
I stood up and looked around. "No. I'll be happy if he's engaged because he's in his 30s now."
"You're insane. It's my first time to see someone who can't be happy with her or his crush because he's or she's free. So are you saying that you'll be happy if he has a fiancé?" Coleen asked me again.
I sighed heavily. "Yes. He's perfectly fit with a girl who's beautiful, and especially rich like him." I pointed at him.
"You look grumpy," Axel said.
"No, I'm not. I'm just sleepy and surprised by your loud voices." I said. "So, can I excuse myself? Because I want to sleep again. See you later guys."
I turned my back on them and took big steps towards our room. Honestly, I can't explain my feelings right now. I was annoyed with their prank but, I'm absolutely happy.
