Amalia took a swig from her beer. She stood up earlier to get us some drinks before resuming back to her seat. I cannot keep up with the absurdity of the situation. Who would when the woman in front of me embodies my probable ending? Also, I'm drinking with my doctor during an active session.

"Last time I heard of him was years ago. He was happily married  and has a son somewhere in the European continent," Another swig. I feel for Amalia. Digging old wounds must be hard.

"Amalia, you don't have to if it's making me remember all the awful things again," I reached for her cold hand, grasping it on my own. She gave me a grateful smile.

She placed the half-empty can on the side, "It's making me remember the awful things, yes, but there were good things too. I've never told anyone at all, Mavis. Didn't have the heart to when everyone thought I'm living a blissfully serene life, waiting for my mate," A sad smile from her. I tightened my grip on her hands, urging her to continue.
