Orion opened his eyes and saw fire, fire blazing upon an apartment while he gazed across it. He could only think of one word 'beautiful' and hot, it was quite hot. His head started to hurt a bit, while memories came flooding in. Orion quickly figured out that, that was his family's apartment in which he barely escaped before it burst into flames, in it lived his step-father, mother, and 2 step-siblings. His mother marrying his step-father was the worst thing that happened to the previous body's owner, as he and his daughters were abusive pieces of shit.
Sirens were blaring and the fire department quickly arrived and put out the fire, paramedics were 2nd to arrive, carrying out scorched bodies, none of which he could even recognize because of how burnt they were. Although he was a bit sad about his mother dying, he held no real emotional attachment.
He was taken by paramedics just to make sure he was all fine and dandy, and after they made sure, he was let out of the hospital. He knew from his memories that he lived in New York in the year 1940.
Orion wanted to get into the military, and quickly since there were only 5 years before Captain America went in the ice, and he wanted those powers. But it was easier than he thought since Captain America was doing a show and a signing tonight. he checked his watch since it was at 7 pm, and it was already 5 so he had to hurry. He went to the location with minutes to spare, and by god was it packed, but he squeezed his way in, watched the very boring show, stole some kids Captain America comic while he wasn't looking, and went to go stand in line to get Captain America's ability.
After an hour and a half of waiting it was finally his turn, Orion asked for a handshake, and bam, all that power at once came at him like a tsunami. Orion stumbled for a second before stabilizing himself.
"You ok?" Captain America asked
"Yeah, just a little nervous" Orion replied with the first thing he could think of.
Orion quickly stumbled out of there and once he was out, he bolted, and he was much faster with the super-soldier serum coursing through his veins.
"I need to find a place to stay" Orion mumbled since his old home burned down and he was already 18 but he didn't have much cash. So he did the most logical thing to do... rob a bank.
After he was done with that and escaped from the cops, Orion booked a hotel. It wasn't big but it didn't matter, as he wouldn't be staying there for that long. Nighttime was approaching so he just went to sleep.
The next day rolls around, and he leaves the hotel, and shortly after, cops are swarming the place "Phew, that was close" Orion said as he was still getting away from the hotel. As he was walking, he thought about wolverine and his ability to live for a couple hundred years, 'I will probably want to live till the 2000s so I can be there for when most of the MCU stuff happens'
'There are so many abilities that I want, Professor X should be alive now, and he will meet mystique soon, so that's 2 birds with one stone.' 'Ill focus on Wolverines ability in the meantime since they won't be meeting for another 4 years.'

"But now I have to take a plane to California... but luckily I still have some leftover money." So, Orion booked a plane to California and was on his way to the airport. He got on the plane, it took off. Nothing happened for most of the flight, and he didn't hear or see any commotion, probably because he was sleeping in the first-class area, but doesn't matter.
The plane landed and Orion got off and booked another hotel as it was getting late. and went to sleep. He checked out of the hotel the next morning and got on his way to Fresno, a city in California that is the headquarters of Team X.
