Days passed, the surviving children were given a secluded training facility, more food to eat, but their spirits were at their lowest, knowing where their food came from.
And despite their indignance, they had no choice but to cannibalise because none of them knew who would survive in the finale. They all needed the strength to at least fight for their lives.
Besides, knowing that their food was from a fellow human being didn't make it taste any different because they were eating it for at least a month, just oblivious about the real ingredient.
As reality would have it... they had no choice but to conform to their present circumstances with the hope that they would be the ones to win and get to live in the end.
But there was an underlying possibility that even the one who survived in the end would be put to the test in another similar battle where he would have to kill again to live for a few weeks longer.
