Chapter 33 - Chapter 33:

'Well, saying that is easy, but doing it is a whole other thing.' I ponder as I sit in a fountain; the water is murky.

"Maybe I should ask a guard where the first victims were attacked... Huh, is someone playing a harp?" I get up and quickly follow where the sound is coming from.

"It seems to be coming from the sea; it's so harmonious." I say as I stop near the shore, there is a small wall that separates the city and the beach.

However, as I listen to the music, I feel a hand on my shoulders, and the whole city in unison becomes silent.

I make a 180° turn, with a fiery hand already charged with a fireball. "Who are you and what do you want??!!" I shout while aiming my fist at the person in order to see my would-be assailant.

"I am a red priestess, and I came after I was told to by my lord," says the now-identified woman; she is wearing the iconic red clothing.

However, she has a tattoo on the upper right of her face; she seems to be of Nat origins. "I see. And what business might he have with me?" I ask intrigued; it's not every day that a priestess comes to you claiming that her lord is interested in you.

'I mean, sure, I get job offers from high-placed merchants, but not religious people. They tend to deal with their own problems. And even when they need us, they send a non-devout messenger to us.'

"It would be better if we were to talk at my house, as who knows who might eavesdrop on us?" She doesn't even see if I am following her as she leads me back into the city.

'I don't remember it taking me this long to get to the fountain.' I ponder as the red priestess leads the way to a rundown house. 'Impressive. if I didn't know any better, I would say that this is a normal shitty house.'

The house is completely busted; it's nestled between a grey and red house, and it's not far from the merchants district. The doors are nowhere to be seen; the glass in the windows is broken with shards sticking out of the frame.

And worst of all, the weird flower symbol, which in and of itself wouldn't be very bad. However, the paint is almost gone, and 'is that piss and puke at the corners? Ewww!!' I instantly start to gag.

"Are you okay?" The priestess asks as she looks around, perhaps to make sure we weren't followed. "Did you need to make it this hideous?" I say, pointing at the shitty house, while clutching my stomach.

"You can tell just by looking at it!!!" she shouts, making me flinch; she gained a nat accent just now. "I thought we were supposed to be secretive." I remind her with a harsh tone.

"Right, follow me," she says in perfect Westerosi as she leads the way into the house. As soon as I am a foot away from the house, the changes begin, as the house is no longer hideous.

Suddenly a large dark oak double door is greeting me where just a few seconds ago was nothing, and the windows are no longer open with the glass broken; instead, they are closed with tainted glass.

As for that hideous flower, it became a spiralling flame that complements the blackness of the rest of the house. 'Edgy, I kind of like it.' I think to myself as I step in the house.

"So what does your lord want from me?" I ask once the priestess closes the door; instead of answering me, she heads deeper in the house, taking the staircase into what I assume is the guest room.

"I was sent by the high priest 2 months ago; he had a premonition that something terrible was going to happen in this city." She begins after sitting in a nearby chair.

"He sent me alongside 4 warriors of the fiery hand; we talked with the city representatives, warning them. Trying to come to an agreement that we could both profit from, but the representatives refused to listen to us."

"Leading to people getting abducted and chaos, I fail to see how any of this relates to me?" I question leaning next to the door.

"Indeed, after failing to deal with the problem, the representatives were forced to turn to us, accepting all our terms and conditions and then some."

"However, there was a complication... these creatures of the night were able to multiply very rapidly. As well as the more they eat, the stronger they get." A dark look passed through the priestess's face.

"In other words, your powers alone aren't enough anymore. Leaving the city is off the table as well." I summarise earning a nod from the priestess.

"Seeing that we were unable to deal with the problem and lost a lot of allies, the representatives lost faith in us. But in my hour of need, Lord R'holler sent me a vision of you – where you will be and when," the red priestess says, getting up from the chair.

"We will discuss further about the mission later. For now, deposit your luggage and make your room; I will prepare dinner." She says, closing the door.
