I woke up to a bird chirping. I had fallen asleep and I noticed Aashida was next to me holding me and sleeping like a baby. I looked at the time and realized it was 1:42 AM. I patted Aashida and woke her up
"Dude it is 1:45 AM!! we fell asleep!!!" I exclamated
"Huh?" Aashishida said waking up "Oh wait!"
We got up and started going back to the hotel, on the way I saw a dark alleyway there were like 4 or 5 guys and a girl maybe just a bit younger than me. I noticed one of the guys was being harsh with her, he touched her back. He slammed her against the wall when I made Aashida look in that direction we stopped walking and leaned on the wall of some restaurant, opposite the alleyway.
"Do something to increase your focus or so that you can hear their conversation or something" I whispered to her I didn't want to be loud and draw any sort of attention.
"Shh, I am doing that"
We stood there for a minute or so, even without the powers like her, I could tell it was some money thing but I couldn't analyze the whole story. After everything was done the one who was harassing this girl pushed her away she fell on the pavement and started going to the left. Those guys stood there talking to each other.
We moved left along our side of the pavement to not catch any suspicion. Then we went to the other side and we followed her. We went to her and I asked "Hey um are you ok? I saw what happened there please tell me what happened."
"Oh uh um hello, I should leave it is getting late." She tried to avoid us
Aashida grabbed her by the hand and that poor girl flinched. By looking at her behaviour it was obvious she was not having it easy in life. The girl teared up she started to cry in pain "P-please don't hit me. I will do whatever you want don't hit me I am begging you."
Aashida and I exchanged looks, she didn't have to use power but the look was enough to come to the common agreement that this girl needs help. Aashida looked at the girl again. she came closer to her and hugged her.
"What is your name?" I asked
"Amane Arughi, I am 13 going to be 14" She answered, " I will do anything for the both of you just please help me out right now."
We agreed, but before she could explain to us what had happened. We took her to a cafe her knee was dusty so she cleaned herself there in the cafe, sat down with us Aashida went to order something from us
she and I were talking and she explained the first part of her life
"My Dad was the head of the gokudō or the Japanese mafia." I looked at her in shock. "Yes, and my mom was a friend of my dad since a young age, they grew up together and had me. At the age of 9, my dad was caught. Being an associate of the Yakuza my mom was taken in as well. The judge sentenced them to death. And they left me alone in the world like that. The government sent me to a foster home-"
Aashida came and got her a strawberry Bobba. Arughi's eyes sparkled, to see a smile behind a broken was pleasing to both me and Aashida.
"THANK YOU SOO MUCH I LOVE BOBBA!!!!"
She started drinking it up and that smile never faded not even when she drinking it. Aashida used her powers to talk to me in my mind
"I went through your memories and"
I nodded. By the time Arughi had already finished half the boba. She looked at us.
"I am sorry I didn't offer you anything. Please have some" We declined and we let her have it
"Before drinking more let me quickly tell you- Umm Ane (older sister) what is your name and yours as well Aniki (older brother)?" She asked
We told her our names and she went to give a quick recap of the first part to Aashida. She listened regardless of knowing
"So ya after going to the foster home. I realized my foster parents are assholes" I glared at her for the bad language, and Aashida gave me a funny look, maybe because of the irony "S-sorry, but it is true. My dad was a drunkard, he didn't even know when people were going in and out of the house. but whenever someone came into the house without money. Especially me, he use to beat me. Mom had many other boyfriends. She would go out with any one of them late at night and come home with some amount of money.
Not to mention that my dad's gang had stolen money from some other smaller gang, but without my dad in power, and his only daughter being left of the gang. All the debt came into my head. So I had to manage between abusive parents. A part-time job to earn something recently fired me. School things. And to top it all off I had to be the girlfriend of that other gang's head. He offered to decrease the loan from 80K yen to 45K yen. And this is my life right now."
"WAIT! this bf of yours, what all did he do to you?!" I asked
"He kissed me that is all. But he does try to do nasty things with me sometimes. I somehow avoid." She replied
My blood was boiling but so was Aashida's, I took a deep breath told her to drink the rest of the boba, and then gave her my number
"Aashida I will tell you what we exactly have to do, tomorrow morning. I have plans in my head and I will do them with your help. For you Arughi. I will be giving you my number. And you will stop whatever you are doing and follow my instruction. When will you be going to the loan sharks again?" I asked
"Tomorrow, 12 at the night. Should I message you then?" She asked
I said yes. we paid and went outside the cafe. Before leaving she looked back at us and hugged us.
"Thank you both soo much!! I trust you both with my life. I know you both will do something for me." She said happily.
I couldn't hold back my tears anymore and my eyes were watery, my tears fell on her long hair and she noticed it. "Ohh Aniki doesn't cry, I will take care of myself till I meet you." She comforted smiling at me, she wiped the tears off my face.
I smiled back at her took all the cash I had in my pocket and handed it over to her
"Give some to your dad, buy something for yourself when you feel hungry. And call me whenever you want to talk to someone ok?" I said
She took the money hugged me once more and went her way. I spent about half a minute waving back at her when I realized that Aashida was staring at me "Well well well, would you look at that. The big boy is crying" She teased me "We will come up with something, but for now we tell no one about this."
"Yes, let us go back home, this night has been too much for me," I said
Aashida held my hand this time and we went to the hotel. Before going to our separate rooms while we were walking in the hallway I looked to ask "Whatever happened before going to sleep In that park. What was that?"
"Ohhh umm no no no, not the time ahh why did you bring this up god damn it," She said getting flustered
"Whatever you say."
We used my phone to hack the door locks and we went in, I took a warm bath and went to lie down on the bed and query more about Aashida. Does she like me? I am not sure if she likes me. She seems very shy nowadays whenever I touch her or stand close to her, tomorrow I will make a strong move I thought to myself and went to sleep.
