Chapter 2 - Guards, Free Her

Ye desperately tried to recall in her mind this little servant named Cheng Huan.

Unfortunately, this little servant didn't even count as a side character—hardly any impression at all.

She rubbed her temples as she spoke,

"You don't like Su Ruoruo?"

Hearing this, Cheng Huan's eyes instantly turned red as if he'd been wrongly accused,

"Young City Lord, how can you insult me like this? Cheng Huan truly likes you!"

Ye raised an eyebrow,

"What if I told you Su Ruoruo really has her eye on you?"

Cheng Huan hesitated for a second, his voice low and sincerely earnest,

"Even though Cheng Huan's body can't fully belong to you, Cheng Huan's heart is yours."

Ye was silent.

Cheng Huan pressed on, eyes still red,

"You don't even mind that Cheng Huan has served men before. Young City Lord, your kindness to me, Cheng Huan remembers it!"

He finished, straightened up, and leaned in towards Ye, offering suggestions as he did,

"Young City Lord, Cheng Huan doesn't mind serving both of you together."

As soon as the little servant finished speaking, Ye lifted her foot and kicked him out the door.

He didn't mind, but she damn well did!

But this kick—maybe a bit too forceful.

BANG!

The servant was sent flying several dozen meters, collapsing in the sun and passing out.

Ye heard the sound and shifted a little.

As soon as this scene happened, the attendants all dropped to their knees with a clatter.

"Spare us, Young City Lord!"

They called out, voices full of fear that Ye might vent her anger and punish them all.

Ye was dazed for a moment by all these pleas.

The original body had natural Divine Power; suddenly having it was a bit hard to get used to, so she overdid it.

She looked up, her thick makeup still smeared across her face because she'd been rubbing it herself—it looked like a mess.

She looked just like a ghost.

She glanced at the unconscious servant on the ground and waved her hand,

"Take him away, take him away."

The guards immediately responded,

"Yes!"

Very quickly, two guards came forward and carried him off.

Watching the little servant leave, she suddenly remembered—her sister, Su Ruoruo, was still tied to the pillar.

This was actually the catalyst for the later tragedy and suffering.

Ye quickly turned to the maid standing nearby,

"Go, untie Su Ruoruo and call the doctor to check on her!"

Hearing this, the maid was astonished—how had the Young City Lord's attitude changed so suddenly?

Wasn't she just furious enough to want to kill Su Ruoruo?

The maid was so surprised, Ye—who had been sitting—stood up at once and waved her hand,

"No, I'll do it myself, I'll get her down personally."

Ye took a deep breath, keeping calm.

Think of a way to fix this—since the male lead hadn't appeared yet, everything could still be changed.

Thinking this, she lifted her skirts and strode over to the pillar in the middle of the courtyard.

Before she even got close, she could smell the scent of blood from far away.

Ye reached the pillar and saw Su Ruoruo tied there, her struggles rubbing the rope into her skin and causing bleeding.

Covered in blood, she looked absolutely miserable.

Ye stepped forward and tugged—snapping the rope easily.

The delicate Su Ruoruo collapsed right into Ye's arms.

After being exposed to the sun so long, this sister was already unconscious.

Ye looked at her—fragile and dainty—the exact opposite of the brash Ye.

She reached out, scooped Su Ruoruo up at the waist, and headed straight for the house.

While walking, she urged,

"Call the doctor."

The little maid was so frightened by Ye's somewhat fierce tone she almost dropped to her knees.

She nodded hurriedly,

"Yes, yes, Miss."

As soon as she finished, she dashed out.

Ye carried Su Ruoruo and rushed all the way inside, laying her gently on the bed.

Just as she finished, the one on the bed woke up.
