Gray was dead inside, he was frightened to that level that he might pass out at any moment now.
"Your friend saved you last time, this time its gonna be real fun bastard"
The fight started between these three Guys and Gray, not to mention the already frightened Gray was being beaten like a Broken hearted guy beats a punching bag.
In no time Gray was red, his face became red then blue. Gray begged to stop it but the guys were holding a real grudge against him as they were beaten by that unknown guy.
"You three again" a voice came from behind.
The guy's got frightened by remembering him, he was the same guy they met last time.
"Well you know I was asking some questions to Professor that's why I got late but you know what's interesting? I saw the professor coming this side to leave for his home.".
"R-Really?"
"Oh come on he's lying"
You think I'm lying? then why don't you stay right here with that boys red face in your hands and see what happens next.
"F-Fine, you're gonna regret for it soon bastard!"
"Anytime losers!" That unknown guy replied.
Those three guys left in a hurry with a mark of fear on their faces.
He walked towards Gray
"Hey you're the guy from last time right? Hi how are you?"
Gray looked at him with a look which was screaming How the hell am I looking to you? but said "I-I'm fine sir".
(Sir? Did he hit his head or something? Yeah right, he ran away last time we met without introduction)
"Hey its okay!" That guy replied.
"No I'm really thankful to you for saving me this time and last time too Sir"
"It ain't much but it's honest work" That guy replied.
"Oh yeah I forgot to introduce myself. Im Edward your fellow classmate if you know we're in the same class btw. I wanted to introduce last time but you ran away like you saw a ghost or something." Edward said with an confused look.
"I-I am Gray, I know you sir and pardon for my my rudeness last time."
(Sir? He's being too formal now) "You can call me Edward, Gray."
"Okay Edward" Gray replied.
"You got beaten pretty rough didn't you?" Edward said while laughing."
"Yeah! but lets go before professor show's up we can be in trouble for this"
"Professor? bro that was a bluff I said earlier. I don't wanted to fight them again and go to home like a beaten tomato thats just too big of a pain. Besides I got a whole lecture last time by my Mom for that"
Gray Laughed as Edward said that
"Hey by the way the sun is going to go down at any moment now. Why don't we go to my house for dinner tonight?"
"N-No Edward I can't disturb you!"
Edward insisted and took Gray home anyways.
Soon Edward and Gray reached Ed's home.
As they stepped in Ed's mom arrived, she was surprised to see a guest with Ed. So finally he made a new friend it seems,but there was something more about him.
Mom - Are you Jane's son?
Gray - Y-Yeah! but how do you know about me.?
Mom - Well well because we were friends silly. And you look so much like your Mom, those eyes, those hairs, that face--
Edward - Mom stop! you're embarrassing me. (with a blush in his face)
Mom - Ooh my bad! (Giggles)
By the way how's your Mom? it's a really long time since last I met her.
Gray with a really sad look on his face - S-She is no more...
The bag on Mom's hand slipped as soon as she heard this unfortunate news.
Mom - It can't be...
Edward - We're really sorry Gray.
Gray - No , its okay Edward.
Suddenly Clarks comes
"Mom Im so hungry, the rat in my stomach died and reincarnated almost 3 times and is ready to die again!"
Everyone burst into laughter after listening to Clark's hilarious line.
Clark - Umm Mom we have guests today.?
Mom - Yeah Clark! Greet him he's Gray, Ed's new friend. He'll be dining with us today.
By the way Gray did you informed at your house? If no, then there's the telephone you can inform at your house and then come to the table.
After informing Ms.Helda, Gray washed his hands and went to the table with Ed. They sat, prayed and started dinner.
Gray - Wow this tastes so good!
Mom - Please take more dear.
Clark - By the way, why's your face so red like peach beaten to death and it became an apple?
Edward - .....
Gray - ...
Mom - Well yeah, I wanted to hear that too Ed,Gray.
Edward - Well it's a very funny story right Gray?
Gray - Yeah a really really funny one.
Clark - Good then tell us too!
Edward and Gray were dead inside, they obviously can't tell this to Mom. Edward will get a lecture on fighting too otherwise.
It was all fun and tasty dinner but Gray was wondering something. I've been eating food at home too, but since Mom's death I never felt the taste like before. Why is it now that I feel these flavours and feels like Im genuinely happy today?
(Dinner is over)
Mom - Gray, I want to let you know that you can come here whenever you want anytime, we'll be glad to see you. (With a smile)
Edward - Yeah Gray! We are now friends afterall.
Gray had a warm smile on his face but tears in his eyes. He was really thankful for this kind treatment to him and that he finally made his first friend.
After the amazing time Gray spent with Ed and his family Gray decided to go home.
On his way Gray finally understood that maybe Family and happiness isn't a place to be, its people we share our best memories with.
The time passed, Ed and Gray became best friends. Whenever something bad was gonna happen to Gray, Ed just comes and save him out of nowhere. At 7 when everyone learned their affinity, Ed was almost like a prodigy. Even when the three of those guys together
weren't able to defeat Ed even once. Everything was going great until that day arrived.
At the age of 14 people started discovering their manifestations. 1/3rd of the class got their manifestations excluding Gray and Ed.
Even after using the full power's of his affinity skill Ed wasn't able to even compete with the power of manifestations. It was the time everyone started bullying Ed. Day by day Ed was bullied as he was just physically strong not with the skills. Soon due to his incompetence He got bullied everyday.
Ed was being told to leave the academy,to dropout of the academy to be precise.
By protecting Gray, Ed made many people regret even trying to bully him but the tables have turned now. Just because of his lack of manifestations he was bullied every single day. Even Ed's mom got frightened seeing Ed's after his school. But no one can do anything, Bullying was allowed in the academy to make the Knights tough and to make unnecessary candidates drop out immediately.
Everything was like this everyday until one day Ed was beaten so bad that the blood covered his entire body.
At that moment Gray decided thats he's going to become the strongest that no one can even imagine. Not to save the world but to protect the people he loves.
Gray finally activates his manifestation.
