Alex considered all the Dao he would need to navigate through the Void. Dao of Space and Time were obvious, but there were other Dao that he would need to learn too.
He had the Dao of Spatial Expansion, so he would need to learn the Dao of Spatial Contraction, or at least come close enough to recognize it when it was happening.
Similarly, he would need to further improve his understanding of Dao of Time Stagnation and Time Swiftness for the same reason. He would need to improve his ability to be aware of time's passing within the void, as one could easily be lost for years in there without knowing.
'I'll also need to be aware of space distortion,' Alex thought. That, thankfully, had a very easy example to learn through, ever-present in the skies above them.
The more he considered this, the more he became certain that this was the only way. Only through Void could they leave Hell.
