The self-restraint Khan had just started to employ crumbled at those words. He didn't need to question the soldier any further to understand what he meant, either. Only one "them" existed at that point in time.
Raymond also immediately understood the vague message, but never got the chance to confer with Khan. The lab's machines resumed malfunctioning, snapping his gaze back to the testing room, only to find it empty.
Everything soon stabilized, leaving the poor messenger too stunned to move. As for Raymond, he completely disregarded the soldier, looking at the open exit Khan's forces had wisely set up in the lab beforehand.
"Is there a ride ready?" Raymond asked, holding back a sigh.
"Y-" The soldier stammered. "Yes, sir!"
"Bring me there," Raymond ordered, knowing he would be late to what was bound to be one of the most significant meetings in that war effort.
