"Oh young master, you are back. Have a seat, I'll bring your lunch".
Jake nods and walks towards dining table.
The housekeeper while serving the meal looks at Jake, "what happen young master, you look a bit pale since you returned from school. Didn't you make any friends?"
"No it's not like that. Infact I found him, it's been 8 years now" Jake said in a low voice stroking the spherical wooden object in his hand.
[I'll describe the appearance of the object after few convos]
"Huh? Are you talking about that Dong-Hyun?, the naughty boy who saved you from that incident. But then it's the great thing. Why are you looking upset?" The housekeeper gave a surprised look.
▪︎[Dong-Hyun is childhood name of kai, after death of kai's parents he changed his name to kim Ji-hoon]
"I know it's great. But I think he doesn't remember me" Jake said in disappointment and fills his mouth with bulgogi(a korean dish).
"But young master, how do you know that boy is Dong-Hyun only, because you were sent abroad after that incident".
"I saw the locket same as this one" (the wooden object which Jake always keeps in his hand)
[Description of the object(the one in Jake hands): the wooden object has a shiny appearance and two hearts are carved on it with a word
"우둔한" (meaning dumb).]
[Description of the locket around Kai's neck: it has the same appreance as Jake's except the word
"토끼" (meaning bunny).
[Flashback] 8 years ago:
"Jake-Jake, I brought back our lockets from those clumsy boys" kai cried while running towards Jake.
"Oh! You are hurt, it will leave a scar on your forehead" Jake having a regretful expression.
"Ahh this, Haha nevermind, here take your 'bunny' locket" kai said.
"No give me your 'dumb' locket and keep mine 'bunny' one".
"Huh but why? Are you dumb, that you want the "dumb" locket?"
"No-no, I just want to exchange our lockets so that we'll remember our nicknames in the future too".
"Oh I see, okay then, keep my locket. Hmm".
*both heads back to their house*.
"Where were you Jake?" his mom said
"I was playing with Dong-Hyun"
"When will you understand my words Jake. I already told you he is not worth your friendship" mom yells at Jake.
"But mom-"
"Just go to your room for study and you will not get to eat your dinner".
[Jake's parents always have been forcing him to do things without considering his thoughts which made Jake feel lonely and depressing which is also a reason for his social anxiety disorder]
Next day Jake, kai and one more student were heading to school.
The three of them heard a kitten's voice and they ran towards the hilly area. When Jake was bending to hold the kitten, he slips and pushes the other student down the hilly area, the student hits his head and lays unconscious.
After seeing this, kai convinces Jake to head to school and kai decided to put blame on himself.
The crowd calls the ambulance and kai was taken to police station where he confessed everything. The acquaintance of the student slaps kai: "filthy boy, this is what your parents taught you".
[Kai is a naughty and troublemaker boy but he was mature enough at the age of 9 to take blame of his best friend]
Because of Kai's young age and incident occurred because of mistake, he was sent back home.
"Mom I'm sorry, I put you in trouble."
"Oh my Dong-Hyun, don't say like this. I know it's not your fault. You were just protecting Jake. I'm very proud of you" she hugged kai.
Meanwhile at Jake's house.
"That troublemaker Dong-Hyun, I knew it he will do something this big"
"M-Mom actually, it wasn't him, instead it was me. He took my blame and sent me to school"
"What? Are you kidding me Jake?" She yelled while holding Jake's shoulder
"I-I am sorry mom" Jake started crying.
"You" she slaps Jake, "I'm done with you, now you cannot stay here anymore, I'll ask your dad to send you abroad"
"Mom mom I'm sorry"
She pulled Jake and locked him in the room.
Few days later
'Ting-tong'
"Oh sung-ho, come inside". "Dong-Hyun it's sung-ho"
"Ahhh Dong-Hyun, actually I want to tell you something even I promised that person not to tell you but I feel like I can't hide it anymore"
"What is it. Just tell me. Or else I'll be late. I have decided to meet Jake....it's been a long time"
"Huh? You want to meet Jake. But I think it's not possible"
"What do you mean it's not possible. It's not like he is out of Korea. Hahha"
"Yeah it's not like this but it will be. His parents are sending him abroad"
"What?? Are you serious, why all of the sudden. And he didn't even think of telling me"
"His flight is today in 3 hours. He will leave for airport at 4pm" "now I'm going, I just came to inform you this".
"Mom Jake's parents are sending him to abroad".
"Oh I see".
"Wait mom. You already knew it. And you didn't feel telling me"
"I'm sorry Dong-Hyun. I promised your dad not to mention it to you".
"Am I this much unworthy mom, why do you all keep excluding me from everything" kai stood and ran to head Jake's house
"Honey, Dong-Hyun ran to Jake" his mom cried.
Both his mom and dad ran to stop kai.
"Jaaaaake" kai screamed, Jake heard but didn't look back and sits in the car and left for airport.
Kai was still running and same goes for his parents. They were calling kai when suddenly a truck lose his control and hit his parents.
"Dong-Hyu-
They died right on the scene.
[Present day]
"Young master, now will you talk to him?"
"Hmm I will, I have to"
"But first I'll check the scar on kai's forehead, if he has it then I'm sure he's the person I lost from 8 years back"
"But why did he change his name, I wonder"
*Next day in the class*
"Today is your english test, so prepare your stationaries" teacher announced.
While kai writing his paper " ahh, I don't know even one answer".
After 1 hour, Jake finishes and submits his paper and walks outside the class.
Meanwhile kai looks at Jake in a surprised manner.
"Huh! What the-* , did he finish his paper this early, woah too fast and look at me I didn't even start" kai sighed.
Kai closes his answer sheet and submits the paper.
"Wait wait, Mr.kim Ji-hoon do you accept me to complete your paper huh?" The teacher said.
"Hahha no no sir. How can I even think of that, I just want to go to washroom, it's urgent please".
"Just get back to you seat".
"Sir please it's super urgent, do you want me to pee in my pants"
"Okay fine go and come back asap".
Kai runs to the backyard of the school.
Meanwhile Jake is standing and observing the tree [this is the tree where kai brings back their lockets from clumsy boys].
While running, kai slips and falls on Jake.
[Let them stay in that position for a while. Heheh lovely dovey moment is compulsory😁]
[They look at each other and kai's ears turns red]
Kai realises and comes to his sense.
"I'm sure, I did something wrong in my past life that I always encounter you in my way" kai said in an annoying way.
Jake stands and looks at kai's forehead. He heads towards kai and kai steps back and the tree blocks kai's back.
Jake raised his hand and rubbed against kai's forehead to lift his hair bangs where he saw the scar on left top corner of the forehead.
"I finally found you" Jake murmured.
Kai was still in shock.
"Can I've a look at that?" Jake gestured on kai's chest.
"Huh? Are a pervert or something. Why are you being so touchy and now you even want to look at my chest. Okay I know we are boys but it doesn't means that I'll offer my body" kai said coming to his senses.
"No-no, you are thinking wrong, I-I just want to have a look at that thing you are wearing around your neck".
Kai was froze after hearing this. He hold his locked and gave a disagreement look.
"Do you mean my locket. Listen it's not something I want to show to everyone, so just stay away from me if you want to look at it" kai gave a cold expression.
"But-"
Before Jake could say something, kai walks back to the class.
Jake looks down and tightens his fist holding the other locket.
