Chapter 2 — The Hunter's Edge
Three days had passed since Kuro Hayama first woke up in the endless forest of Terra.He had grown stronger, faster, and more skilled — but one thing pissed him off more than anything.
"Fucking SP," he muttered. "Why is this shit so hard to get?!"
He'd scoured every nest, stolen every egg, even risked pissing off a very territorial bird twice his size… and still, his Summoning Points had barely budged.

EP: 9,700
AP: 0
SP: 13,000
Level: 9
Despite the low SP, Kuro had reached Level 9, and his body felt like a fine-tuned weapon.But now, he stood face-to-face with something that made his confidence crack.
Across from him was a massive white-furred tiger, its claws glinting like blades, fangs bared in a snarl.
(Saber Tiger — Level 10)
"This pussycat's on steroids," Kuro growled, barely dodging as the beast slashed, its claws missing his face by inches.
He rolled sideways, kicking up dirt, then pivoted sharply and countered with a precise slash to the tiger's flank. Blood sprayed. The beast roared in rage.
Its eyes turned red.
"Oh great. Enraged mode. Classic."
The tiger launched forward, faster than before. Kuro raised his sword but wasn't quick enough — claws raked across his shoulder, tearing through skin.
"ARRRGH! YOU'RE DEAD, YOU DAMN FURRY BASTARD!"
Fueled by rage, Kuro ducked beneath the next leap, spinning on his heel. As the tiger sailed overhead, he brought his sword up in a perfect arc — and stabbed deep into its gut.
The beast landed with a thud, a pool of blood spreading beneath it. It gave a final whimper, then collapsed, motionless.
Kuro stood over it, panting, blood dripping from his shoulder. "And stay down…"

A wave of pure energy surged through him. His wounds knit closed. Muscles tightened. Vision sharpened. It felt like evolution itself.
"Hah… feels like I leveled up ten times at once…"

A new tab blinked into view on his HUD.
"Fragments? What the hell is that? Open it."
A massive list appeared — titles, names, and symbols, most unfamiliar. Until one caught his eye:

Kuro's jaw dropped. "Wait… so these are worlds? I can actually go to other anime universes?! System, I love you."
(Affirmative. Fragments are gateways to alternate universes. Missions there grant massive rewards. Higher cost = higher difficulty and greater rewards. Insufficient SP detected. However, one-time option available: RANDOM WORLD ROLL — tailored to current power level. Warning: User cannot return until completing 3 missions. Accept? Y/N)
Kuro stared, tempted… then shook his head.
"Not yet. I want to explore this world first. Harem-building can wait. Barely."
He closed the Fragment Store and stretched.

Kuro grinned. "Looks like it's wolf season."
Then he frowned. "But how the hell do I find them in this massive forest?"

"Fif-fucking-teen thousand?! Argh… fine. Buy it!"
A mini-map popped up in the corner of his vision, and in the top-right corner, clusters of red dots pulsed faintly.
He tapped the map, expanding it into a full view. "...Okay, that's actually kinda sick. Time to move."
As he jogged toward the nearest cluster, Kuro opened the Equipment Shop, figuring he could use an upgrade.
His eyes locked onto a crimson blade.
(Item: Bloodthirster — Type: Katana. Special Effect: Slight self-healing per successful strike. Cost: 5,000 EP)
"No hesitation. Buy it."
A gorgeous katana with a blood-red sheath materialized in his hand. Drawing it revealed a gleaming blade that shimmered like it had been soaked in blood.
A strange energy pulsed from the hilt into his hand — dark, warm, and somehow comforting.
"Ohoho… we're gonna be best friends."
Kuro equipped the blade, then browsed for armor.
(Red Dragon Knight Set — Special Effect: Reduces incoming damage by 30%. Cost: 5,000 EP)
"Say less."
A flash of red light enveloped him. When it faded, Kuro stood clad in gleaming, scale-like red armor. The helmet was shaped like a snarling dragon.
"…System, can you hide this? I look like I'm cosplaying for Comic-Con."
(Yes. Cloaking enabled.)
The armor faded from sight, but its weight and protection remained.
"Much better."
Just then, a trio of grey wolves appeared up ahead, growling and snapping.
(Grey Wolves — Levels 6–8)
Kuro stepped forward. "Alright boys, test my gear."
The first wolf lunged, jaws wide — Kuro didn't flinch. He raised his arm, letting the beast bite down. Pain flared, but the armor held.
"Nice try."
He drew Bloodthirster and drove it into the wolf's gut. The beast yelped and fell limp, while warm energy flowed into Kuro's wound, easing the pain.
"Oh yeah. Definitely best friends."
The other two wolves attacked together. Kuro weaved between them, blade flashing in elegant arcs. In seconds, both were dead.

"Alright," Kuro said, sheathing his katana with a flourish. "Let's hunt some more."
He jogged toward the next red cluster, eyes gleaming.
This forest may be dangerous — but now, he was the predator.
