Chapter 23 - Hamilton's Auction House

The past days Faridah was quiet even in front of Kyle while eating. Kyle didn't bother asking as he knew that she was tired from working night and day as it shows in her face that she didn't sleep a wink lately.

"Kyle, Can I have a moment with you?" Keteki asked as Kyle nodded and excused himself from Faridah's office.

"The Hamilton's Auction will happen on Friday and I booked a flight for Faridah this evening. I guess you cannot come with us after all you have your midterm examination on Friday." Keteki explained as Kyle felt sad about it since he wanted to go where Faridah is.

"I understand, You don't need to worry about that Keteki." Kyle said as Keteki smiled at him. "I know you would but Faridah have been distracted for awhile now so I'm thinking to let her off from work and stay for Paris for a vacation and come back on Monday." Keteki explained.

"I see, You'll be gone for 4 days." Kyle said as Keteki nodded. "It's okay, I understand Keteki don't worry about me." He said yet he can't help but feel bad that Faridah will be gone for days.

"Keteki Karlsefni..." Shoji called as he smiled at them. A handsome, tall and rich guy like him would make everyone in the office fall in love.

"Shoji Albertsons, What brings you here?" Keteki asked as he smiled. "Didn't Faridah told you? I'm coming with you at the Hamilton's Auction House. After all Kathrine will be there." Shoji said smirking as he point at Faridah's office.

"Is Faridah around? I wanna talk to her." Shoji said as Keteki was about to answer when Kyle cut him off.

"She's on her break now, You can talk after she finished eating." Kyle said firmly as Shoji looked at him from head to toe.

'What the hell is a college student doing here in the Hamilton's Company?' Shoji asked himself.

"An intern?" Shoji asked as he point at Kyle. Keteki frowned as Kyle looked pissed by his misjudgements.

"He's Kyle Anthony Greyson, Faridah's..." Keteki can't continue the sentence since he don't even know what relationship are they making with Faridah.

"I'm Faridah's Blue Diamond." Kyle's statement made Shoji froze in his feet.

'Saying that he's Faridah's Blue Diamond, likely symbolizes that he sees himself as someone incredibly precious and rare in Faridah's life.' Shoji thought as he saw the blue diamond ring on his hand.

'Why the hell would Faridah keep a traitors son on her side?' Shoji asked himself as Kyle looked determined.

A blue diamond is one of the rarest and most valuable gemstones, often representing uniqueness, loyalty, and unbreakable strength. By comparing himself to a blue diamond, Kyle may be expressing his unwavering commitment to Faridah, emphasizing his exceptional role or value in her life. It also suggests he sees their connection as something extraordinary and enduring.

This could reflect his determination to stand out and prove his importance or worth to Faridah.

Yet Shoji knew that this relationship would easily break if Kyle find out the truth about his father's death.

"I see, Nice meeting you." Shoji said when Faridah's door opened as Faridah saw them three outside.

"Shoji, Your here already. Why didn't you let him in Keteki?" Faridah asked as Keteki cannot answer and just looked at Kyle.

"Kyle, You still have classes right? You can leave now and thank you for the meal." She said as Shoji went inside her office.

Kyle felt sad and neglected by how Faridah acted.

"Kyle..." Keteki called as Kyle didn't listen and open the door.

"Did you left something Kyle?" She asked as Kyle smiled as he point on his lips.

"Ahh, I'm sorry Shoji but could you please close your eyes?" Faridah said as she grabbed Kyle's necktie and kissed him on the lips.

"I'll message you after I'm done here." Faridah said as Kyle nodded and looked at Shoji who was still covering his eyes. After Kyle left Shoji and Faridah proceed on a serious conversation.

"Why would you keep that traitor's child close to you?" Shoji asked as Faridah looked at her. "He's my human." Faridah answered as she went back to her chair.

"I never knew that you will eat something that a normal person like him would make." Shoji said as Faridah drinks her water.

"His food is delicious in the making." Faridah plainly answered as Shoji smirked at her.

"Come on now Far, I know you too well. Have you made a soft spot for that guy?" he asked as Faridah stopped drinking and glared at him. "After all he introduce himself as your blue diamond. I wonder what does that mean?" He asked as he laughed mocking Faridah.

"Let's just talk about the auction and not on my personal life Shoji." Faridah said as Shoji smirked knowing that Faridah starts getting pissed.

Night came and it was time for Faridah's flight as Kyle didn't receive a single message from her as usual.

"Kyle..." He stopped as he saw Calista in front ordering and he was distracted on his phone for not noticing.

"I'm sorry, What's your order?" he asked as Calista smiled sadly. "I want to talk to you." she said firmly. "I'm in middle of my work." he answered.

"If its something about your father's death you will give me your time right?" Calista asked as Kyle was stunned by what she just said. Kyle looked at his manager and asked for an early break because of emergency.

They sit down as Calista starts talking.

"The Hamilton's are the goons that killed your father. In fact it was Faridah Hamilton that told them to kill those thirty businessman's that leeches into the Hamilton's riches." Calista explained.

It was precise and blunt yet Kyle cannot believe what he was hearing.

"My father is a good person! He will not-"

"Is he? Because with this file this are the crimes he committed to bring the Greyson's name to the top." Calista said as she drop the envelope. Kyle opened it and saw all the charges.

"He was a monster in the business industry and he was part of that organization that Anthony Lim made in order to bring the Hamilton's name down." she added.

"Why are you telling me this now?" he asked as Calista smiled.

"To ruin your relationship with her. After all I cannot just watch the both of you being happy. Take this information as my thank you for saving my life last time. This time I am saving yours and that Faridah is a dangerous businesswoman." she warns Kyle like it will be the end of him if he keeps trusting Faridah.

In grand hall of Hamilton's Auction House was bathed in warm, golden light as the evening's event unfolded in full swing. Wealthy collectors, renowned jewelers, and media personnel from across the globe filled the room, their chatter a blend of curiosity and awe.

At the center of attention was the dazzling Red Diamond, displayed on a raised pedestal under a glass case, its brilliance refracted by carefully placed spotlights.

Mr. Ferdinand Hamilton and Mrs. Cathy Hamilton, the proud owners of the auction house, stood near the stage, their tailored suit reflecting the opulence of the night. Beside him was Dr. Charlotte Hales, a lead researcher from the Alaska Research Club, whose team had uncovered the rare gem deep within the Alaskan wilderness.

"This is unprecedented," Dr. Hales whispered, her voice tinged with both pride and disbelief as she glanced at the diamond. "I never thought our find would lead to something of this scale."

Faridah Hamilton smiled warmly, raising her champagne glass. "Your discovery has not only elevated your research club but also turned this evening into one of the most monumental events in auction history. I owe you and your team my gratitude."

Shoji cannot take his eyes off from the glistening red diamond. It was so astonishing that it almost took his breath away.

The auctioneer, an elderly gentleman with an air of refined confidence, stepped to the podium. A hush fell over the crowd as he prepared to announce the highlight of the night.

"Ladies and gentlemen," he began, his voice carrying a weight that silenced even the faintest whispers. "We present to you the crown jewel of this evening's collection: the Red Diamond, a gem so rare and exquisite it has no equal. This piece, unearthed in the icy depths of Alaska, represents a fusion of nature's wonder and human tenacity."

The crowd erupted into applause as the diamond's history was recounted, from its discovery in a frozen glacier to its painstaking extraction and transport to Hamilton's.

"The bidding will start at fifty million dollars," the auctioneer announced, his gavel poised in hand.

Hands shot up across the room, and the bidding war began. Numbers soared to unprecedented heights, the tension rising with every raised paddle.

In a private balcony overlooking the room, The Hamilton's together with Dr. Hales, Shoji and Keteki watched the spectacle unfold.

"This diamond is more than just a gem," Feliz Hamilton remarked. "It's a story—a testament to exploration, determination, and the unexpected treasures the world still holds." Alexander Hamilton added.

Dr. Hales nodded. "It's proof that even in the harshest environments, beauty can thrive. I hope this inspires more people to value not just the gem but the journey that brought it here."

When the gavel finally came down, the Red Diamond was sold for a record-breaking two hundred and seventy-five million dollars. The crowd erupted into applause, cameras flashing as the winning bidder was escorted to the stage to claim their prize.

Faridah Hamilton turned to Dr. Hales with a beaming smile. "Tonight, Hamilton's Auction House and the Alaska Research Club have both made history. Here's to future discoveries and the stories they bring."

Dr. Hales raised her glass, a sense of fulfillment washing over her as the Red Diamond's radiant glow filled the hall, cementing its place in legend.

"Shoji,..." Faridah called as she looked at Kathrine leaving the auction house. Shoji nodded and excuse himself.

Faridah then receive a message from Kyle that made her lost her smile.
