After Mo Yinhe had eaten his fill and regained his strength, he finally had the energy to think about other matters. He picked Si Mingjing up from the sofa and set her on his lap.
"What are you doing?" Si Mingjing pushed him slightly.
"What do you think? Holding my wife," Mo Yinhe said, bringing his face close and rubbing her cheek with his firm chin. "Give me a kiss."
Si Mingjing laughed and pushed away his approaching face. "Stop messing around."
"Who's messing around? Hurry up, or I'll deal with you right now."
Yielding to his domineering tone, Si Mingjing leaned in and gave him a quick peck on the face. "There, that's enough. Now let me go."
Mo Yinhe lifted her into his arms, carried her straight to the bedroom, and kicked the door shut.
"The kids aren't here now; it's just the two of us. Mingjing, Mom told me to take good care of you. You've had a hard few days, so I'll comfort you properly."
