Although seeing Alice's smile after leaving the served dinner left an invigorating feeling in Katherine, it didn't take long for the expression on her face to turn solemn. It couldn't be helped, Lord Elias had warned her hours before that she would be fulfilling her role as a servant tonight in his chambers, something that had not happened in several days since Alice began staying at the mansion.
For Katherine it was like falling from heaven straight into hell, so it was not surprising that she was quite depressed. Unfortunately, she couldn't simply ignore the baron's orders, so aside from cleaning her body and changing into a clean set of clothes there wasn't much she could do to delay the inevitable.
