Chapter 71 - The Truth From Years Ago

Inside the strawberry cake shaped cottage, inside the quiet forest, just waking up with the chatter of the birds, the dawn sunlight glimmered through the stained glass of the window shining on a spot on the glassy floor. 

A woman was busying herself in the kitchen. A soft apron with butterflies embroidered on them as if they would come alive the next moment, covered her chest till her knees, clearly a bit too long for her petite frame. Her hair tied up in a bun, with a few disobedient strands sticking out, framing her face.

The man beside her seemed to be more involved than her, craning his neck from the side to look at the mixing bowl intently.

"Aiya, you are not letting me work!" The woman complained, in a high pitched tone, her delicate face turning red in subtle annoyance, as some of the mix spilled outside the cherry carved bowl.

"I was just trying to help." The man moved away a bit, speaking guiltily.

His obedient demeanor made the woman have pity.
